Argentina vs. Peru is just minutes away and we have some last minute news.

With Lionel MESSI not there, Sergio AGUERO will be wearing the number 10 shirt for Argentina. Also with MESSI not there, Edgardo BAUZA has confirmed that should Argentina receive a penalty, Sergio AGUERO would be the one to take it.

Argentina’s last trip to Lima resulted in a 1-1 draw with Gonzalo HIGUAIN the goal scorer. This was the line-up:

ROMERO; CAMPAGNARO, FERNANDEZ, GARAY, ROJO; GAGO, MASCHERANO; LAVEZZI, MESSI, DI MARIA; HIGUAIN

Only Sergio ROMERO, Marcos ROJO, Javier MASCHERANO, Angel DI MARIA and Gonzalo HIGUAIN repeat from that line-up to the current one. Here’s the line-up for tonight’s match:

ROMERO; ZABALETA, OTAMENDI, FUNES MORI, ROJO; MASCHERANO, KRANEVITTER; DYBALA, AGUERO, DI MARIA; HIGUAIN

  1. We played slow. We played lazy. Peru played much better. Like any team should play. With passion. We lack passion and creativity. It did not surprise me Mascherano made that mistake. He was being slow the entire match. I’ve said it before he plays too safe and combined with his slowness and Peru’s hungry playing style in that match it was going to spell disaster, and it did.

Zabaleta needs to go. Provides ZERO creativity on the wing. Same with Rojo. Di Maria worked his ass off running everywhere as usual but I’m sick and tired of him getting touched and immediately falls to the ground. What good is his speed if he has no balance and almost always ends up on the ground after every run? We have no playmakers in midfield. Messi is essentially our midfied and playmaker. Everyone calling for Icardi, what difference is that going to make? We have enough strikers. All our strikers are fully capable of scoring from a good playmaker like Messi. Perhaps we are tired of seeing the same strikers like Aguero and Higuain, but don’t think if we have Icardi we will all of a sudden have a goal scoring machine on our hands. It will be the same problem with a different shirt. Look at the new guys Dybala and Correa. How much difference have they made? We still have the same problem. No midfield, slow defense, and no creativity anywhere besides Messi.

We also look like we lack confidence. You can see it on our players faces from a mile away. It’s sad. Really is. It’s the coaches’ job to instill confidence and get the players motivated. No matter where our players play and which clubs they come from, they are still human and need support and maybe a good kick in the ass to get them going for a match like we witnessed in Peru. Peru was on fire. We were defeated mentally way before we even lost the match. We simply don’t look good on the ball. The touches on the ball are not convincing. They are not CONFIDENT touches. When Messi is on the ball, it looks and feels different. Not from a technical perspective. I’m talking about more like a “this is my ball now” mentality, and you know he is going to do the best play he can make with the ball whether it be a pass, dribble, shot, or whatever. You don’t always see that from the rest of our players and you don’t have to be Messi to be able to do that.

  2. I live on the east coast in the USA. I still can’t believe I was up well past midnight to watch this absolute garbage of a product we have on the field. Is everyone in Argentina so ignorant that we refuse to learn….This same base core that has nothing to show in terms of trophies is still around after a decade, except now they are just older, slower and deliver shameful performances against Peru and Venezuela. Do you really want to know how pathetic we are? Demichelis is still on the team..Even HE knows he doesn’t belong on the team…
Messi or no Messi, this team will never win anything without a midfield. The way I see it, DiMaria,Lamela, Dybala, Messi, Aguero, Icardi, Higuain, Correa,Pastore, and all the other names being tossed around are all forwards. These guys with the exception of Messi are not players that can control the game or midfield. They do not cover ground. They are not space eaters. We used to produce players like Riquelme, AImar, Cambiasso, Redondo, Ardiles, Tarantini. These players were true midfielders that won the ball, created great opportunity for our forwards, and truly dictated the game. For those of you that remember Messi very early on in his career his best national game moments early came with Pablo Aimar.
I am not sure what happened to the concept of our midfield, but really unless we have 2 or 3 of these type of players in our midfield it does not matter who we line up as forwards. Simply said, Rojo and Zabaleta can not be the players bringing up the ball and the creative minds on the team. Ask why all these players suck with our uniform on? Its simple. Who was our Debruyne or Iniesta? Kranevitter, Mascherano…no way…

  3. It was painful watching that match. How is it possible that it took Bauza 75 min to bring on Banega and realise there was a hole on the midfield that needed to be covered??? I mean I’m a friggin hack when it comes to coaching yet it was pretty friggin obvious!!! Was Banega partially injured? It’s the only thing I can think of unless Inter Milan told Bauza to rest him given how well Banega has been playing for them.

This coach is no better than fucking Tata….something is not right here. There needs to be a clean out of the old and start fresh. I really am sick of watching Arg play with a fucking double pivot….over it!!! We have some of the best talent going around yet our coaches insist on going ultra defensive and play with 2 DMs.

Keep going like this and we will join Chile in not qualifying for the WC. I’m hoping this was just one bad game and there’s nothing to worry about.

  4. 1. The lack of fair competitions for positions is hurting the team.

    2. The 4-2-3-1 system won’t work with Argentina. Playing with classic wingers opens up too much space in the midfield. Bauza needs to drop the idea of playing with wingers and balance the middle as well as find efficient fullbacks replacements.

    • bauza is doing alrite with LUCAS PRATTO
why or y he still wans to go back to the old
      pairing of hugain&aguero.
dis 2, juzz dun ‘ve the fire in them.
its juzz too comfortable for them with their club.
sergio is a big fish in a small english pond,i keep
hearing the english press saying, how good&
how good is he&the best striker in the premiere league
      blah blah blah !
since the last copa final against chile, where he starts,he’s
      being out of sort .

  5. Man that sucked!

But guys, please do something about this multi account troll in here. Not only he post garbage nonstop, he doesn’t even fix his caps lock. And the latter is worse than watching Argentina play now days!

  6. Worst match so far under Bauza. This match remind me Copa America finals! No one can able to create a ball towards our forwards. 6 defenders against Peru? What a joke Bauza! Your team’s DNA is as same as Tata Martino. No team play at all!

    Here’s my ratings_

    Romero:6
    Zabaleta:4
    Otamendi:7
    Mori:5
    Rojo:3
    Mascherano:2
    Kranvitter:1
    Di Maria:4
    Aguero:1
    Dybala:2
    Higuain:2
    Sub: Correa 2 & Banega 4

    Bauza:0

  7. Fat tata’s point deficiency still gonna hunt us…whats wrong to include Icardi u fking old cunt bauza!! without Messi barca and argentina wud be a mediocre team …I think argentina is a a mediocre team …Rojo…Romero..bench warmer playing regularly for NT

    • Hi every one.its a very bad result.and i seriously upset with the result.and i am seriously doubt about argentina qualify to russia world cup.winninig is very far.and about mr mascirano first seal your place in the team and then decide the other player place in the team.

  8. guys we have to forgive Bauza for this shameful game because he was busy watching 60 players for the past few days. Bauza can be a good coach for women national team though or perhaps trans national team.

  9. SO MESSI IS THE PLAYER WHO IS KEEPING ARGENTINA NO 1 BY HIS INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCE…………

SIDE HEROES ARE BIG NAMES BUT THEY R BIG FLOPS……….

NO DRASTIC CHANGE NEEDED BUT ATLEAST PLAY WITH MIDFIELD

AND PLEASE PURE MIDFIELDER SHOULD PLAY IN MIDFIELD NOT ANY OTHER PLAYER

  10. Our strength is attack that doesn’t mean you need to put all of your attacking player in starting 11. Aguero,Dimaria,Higuain and Dybala. How scary it is..? But even against Peru its not working. Bauza to be blamed here.

By Novemebr we can analyze Bauza much. Until now nothing good or great. Just OK.
I believe he will change players and tactics soon.
Win against Uruguay at home was OK. Coming back against Venezuela away was OK. Drawing against Peru(we didn’t win there since 2004. It was Masch fault…today) away is OK.

Losing point in home match against Paraguay will be dangerous. Then Brazil away and Colombia home. Bauza will be tested.

  11. @pretendonna fromerly @captdiego …u are a legend mate …after reading your comments have developed well defined abs laughing at your comments …I must agree with u we have a bunch of weak minded Sissy’s on our hands ..

  12. diego maradona is very good coach than bauza…….at least there is midfield…………………..
    0 midfield in a game ???????? wow Bauza u r smartest

    Bauza is a 2nd class coach proved…

    subs?????? he keep playing all

AGUERO HIGUAIN DI MARIA played always but give nothing….good news Higuain scores..now let him go….though Higuain score today.but they dont have dangerous impression on opponents…..

dybala plays in a different position without ball delivery from midfield and substituted ..

Funes Mori ????? very bad day…defence looks like not willing to play…

after that i think nobody wants to give more chances to the big names as they are tested many times….so please give new playes some chance……….

the back pass from Masche is done by the effect of his playing in defence in Barca all the year than playing in midfield for national team in 7-8 games a year……
unbelievable from a player like him….

evenwhen a experienced buch of players are drawing the game the why not young players will be given a chance………

upcoming Brazil Colombia game…Bauza u r gonna dismissed

  13. Peru and Venezuela score 2 goals against you..? There is some big problem to solve then. Opposition are creating chance after chance against Argentina. No midfield. Almost all of our players sub players in their club. We are Number 1 in ranking…! Thanks to Messi.

  14. Argentina’s advantage lasted all of seven minutes and to be quite honest, they shot themselves in the foot. That entire sequence was completely preventable. goal.com

  15. and so it continues KINDLY REMOVE THE FLOP GENERATION FROM ARE SHIRT INCLUDING MESSI HOMOS HAVE NO PLACE DYBALA LOL HIS A BOY NOT A MAN LIKELY GANG FUKED BY PERU TEAM AFTER THE GAME PASSED AROUND LIKE A WEE SLUT BOY

IV TOLD U TIME AND TIME AGAIN THIS GEN IS A RETARD GEN THE EMBARESMENT OF ARGENTINA

  16. Aguero is playing a good game. He’s all over the pitch and seems to be enjoying the free role. It’s a tough game and a fighting game. Peruvians are very physical on their half. Solid performance and I’ll expect one or two goals more for us when Peru is forced to attack more after the 70 minute mark.

    • I think we all are better coaches and our selection could be better than Bauza’s…Kranvitter needs more experience in Europe league..

      Dear Bauza,

If you need a defensive midfielder, get Yacob for everyone’s sake..is he in your 60 list?

  17. IDK this team focus or specialis for what…defence..offence or possesion tecnical…
defence is worst…offence is worst…possesion more over….i miss lavezzi (not messi)
