Who would have believed that potential in this"Die at the Wool" Rugby League State?

The project is to write a novel which covers the entire picture of our match. Many of team writing the foundations have led sections to be integrated in this project.

Many of these state leagues have histories. It is true to admit this, in some places, footballers and Australian Soccer and Rugby League at exactly the same moment may play.

Now, in the 150th year of our match in Queensland, there is a set of women and men sitting , sifting through documents, programsand newspaper reports and photographs, writing histories of the clubs and football leagues so that our match’s history is maintained for future generations.

The sport fought into the 20th century, getting a minor sport played in Brisbane. But during the latter half of this century, country leagues grew in number and strength. So far, it is true to state that the game is played in every provincial city and their surrounds.

The Queensland grammar schools took the choice to substitute Australian Football by Rugby Union. The decision that was next happened when Brisbane teams denied to produce the trip to play games. This lead to a falling interest in the game in both towns and rather quickly players hunted other sports, for example Rugby Union.

Interest in our domestic match in Queensland grew quickly Whenever the Australia wide national competition began during the 1980s. This happened some 100 years following the issues of the 1880s. After the Bears and the Fitzroy Lions united and won three premierships in a row, then the match grew more quickly through the state as we now had our group in the contest.

Prior to this time there was some"intercolonial" games involving a Queensland combination, a Victorian group and one from Sydney. But there was that the first New South Wales versus Queensland Rugby game which generated great interest. This started the rise of the rugby codes.

At that time two conclusions made around 1886 afterward Rugby League and allowed for the growth in popularity and expansion of firstly Rugby Union as well as brought almost the passing of our match in Queensland.

Epic Holidays of Australian Football in Queensland happened in 1866 before some of those other football codes started to be played within this state. This occurred not long after the first games in Victoria. A few of the men involved with the initial games in Victoria were at the forefront of these games in Queensland. The game remained strong in these centres and to some lesser extent in Brisbane’s capital town before the mid-1880s.
