  1. Alvarez becomes nowhere at Man City lately, Haaland and Foden becomes the first priority and with the new arrival Savinho. Right time to depart, hopefully he will regain his form and spirit at Atl Madrid. Yes Man City make a huge profit from this transfer. Should be thankful to Alvarez.

  2. ‘City hits jackpot by selling a squad player and a backup striker for €90 million!”

English media and pundits overlooked an important fact that Julian Alvarez despite playing as a no8 and a winger most of last season still managed to score 19 goals and provide 13 assists. Due to intense competition for more mins and starting spot at City, he became a victim of selfish play from his team-mates and never received the same level of service like Haaland. He was played in multiple roles as a passing merchant and was under strict instruction to look for Haaland and Foden before shooting. Yes, Haaland scores good number of goals but he misses considerable number of chances too!

Under Pep Julian’s decision making and futbal IQ improved significantly but his finishing actually went downhill. Nevertheless, I am thankful to Simeone for believing in Argentina’s star striker ability and potential who is still 3 to 4 years from hitting his peak and if Alvarez can score 25+ goals this season, Atletico can seriously challenge for Laliga and make a deep run in Champions league. Alvarez’s competitive spirit and determination demonstrates that he is a winner and a fighter and his refusal to be a backup tells everything about his mentality and ambitions!

  3. He should be a starter from the beginning and that’s what he wanted, that is better than sitting on the bench and getting in for a few mins here and there whenever Pep feels it’s appropriate.
He will also play along side some of his countrymen on a regular basis and that is always great for the NT.
Another unexpected CLOWN is the news talking about how his team was at a disadvantage since Colombia had one day less of rest than ARGENTINA, a well-respected Argentine coach talking nonsense as if the rules were changed for ARG’s sake and not like it’s always been that way!!
