Real Betis expecting to sign Giovanni Lo Celso of Tottenham

Real Betis has set their sights on Giovanni Lo Celso to improve their midfield and the Spanish club has been trying to sign the 28-year-old Argentine since June. With the summer transfer window coming to an end, negotiations between Betis and Tottenham Hotspur are expected to intensify, particularly with Nabil Fekir reportedly on his way out of the club.

Lo Celso, who has struggled to find consistent playing time at Spurs, could find a fresh start under Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini. The two-time Copa America champion played with the Spanish club from 2018 to 2020. Should the transfer materialize, Lo Celso will join compatriot Chimi Ávila at the Seville-based club, adding another Argentine presence to the squad.

Lo Celso is in the Argentina squad for the upcoming September matches against Chile and Colombia. A move to Betis, where he is likely to get regular playing time, could help him regain top form and secure his place in Lionel Scaloni’s plans for the national team.

With negotiations set to begin, all eyes will be on whether Betis can successfully bring back the talented Argentine midfielder before the transfer window closes.

  1. I think in the right team he is very good player as how else would had he been able to play as he has done with ARG even hardly playing with Spurs at all, so I think with 28 or 29 he has still plenty to offer and Betis will be great for him! Just hope he stays fit and plays regularly as, that is what he really need’s, though I’m pretty sure even not playing regularly Scaloni would pick him still as he has done in the past, when he has been available etc.
