Virtually anyone can put up a site and call himself a business mentor. I am able to say I’ve worked together with all the worst (causing many headaches, lost time and money drained) AND the best. There are certain attributes to look for in a fantastic mentor before you opt for the one that is right for YOU.
1. Look for Knowledge. Do they know what they’re doing? How can they answer questions? What instances do they provide? Has your mentor "been there, done that"? Make sure your coach has succeeded in what they will be teaching you. .
2. Start Looking for Honesty. Some trainers are full of fluff, turning words just so you hear exactly what you would like to hear. You don’t want someone to pat you on the shoulder–you need someone who’s straightforward, even brutally honest, since they are trying to help you in the long run.
3. Start Looking for Dependability. How much time does it take for them to reply to your mails? My coach, for instance follows up within 24 hours, if not a couple of hours to all my queries.
4. Start Looking for Relevance. Does the information really help you, or does this sound like it was pulled from any old textbook so they could say that they met your part of the deal? Make sure the application is structured, up to date, along with your mentor really personally can help you in each step.
5. Look for Service. Do they attend to youpersonally, or do they ship their assistant? You’re paying for their know-how, not a opportunity to become best buddies with their own secretary. You will want to find someone that not only helps you–replying emails, talking over the phone every month–but truly makes you Believe That your trainer is concerned about the progress of your business
