The substances used to produce the side wall are warmer compared to the tread. The goal of the sidewall is to present a smooth ride by absorbing shock. The rule of tire repair is that once you have a puncture on the side wall — irrespective of how small — you will end up forced to obtain a brand new tire. Even the sidewall puncture often expands and will cause serious accidents if repaired.
