Argentina, which remain the most successful team at this age group, have own the World Cup a record 6 times with the last one coming in 2007 in Canada. This year’s edition, which will be played in South Korea between May 20 and June 11 has Argentina in Group A with the hosts South Korea, Guinea and England.
The Argentina U20 team will open their tournament on May 20 against England before playing hosts South Korea on May 23 and closing out the group on May 26 against Guinea.
Regularly? Lovera played only 200 minutes, Pereyra 155, Rivas 150 minutes. The “unknown” Vargas has cc. 400 minutes and even a goal. Please don’t project your desires as facts. I feel only only thing, if this team will be build around Ascacibar this WC will be a burning again. Drop that kid from the WC for God sake.
Hey Moron, read may posts correctly and without bias. I wrote Sosa, Cardozo and Lovera are playing regularly. I’m not talking about Rivas. So why you put the words in my mounths, moron. Yes, Sosa,Cardozo, Lovera they are playing regularly currently. I didn’t write Pereyra is playing regularly but he should be on WC because was best along Ascacibar. Better than Belmonte, Chicco or anyone. Vargas has played few games but not in this year if I remember correctly.
Dropping ascacibar would mean suicide for this already weak argentina team
BTW
if you have better idea for this team and you know all the players better please to share with us instead vicious idle critic.
It’s hard to expectate anything sensible from guy who want to start build the team from excluding of captain. So we know you don’t want Ascacibar and generally prefer the players from reserve league over players who have generally more to do in Primera. Great logic.
This list is not true, rubbish. Worse than on Sudamericano while we need reinforcement. For instance, where is Perreyra from Rosario Central who was best partner for Ascacibar, what we saw in last game? I don’t see any of our goalkeepers from Sudamerican. Don’t see Mansilla ( don’t want him, though)I don’t think this list is truthful.
Mierez of Tigre was poor while Tigre have two ’97 players which play regularly in Primera – Sosa, Cardozo. Lovera of Rosario? Rojas of San Lorenzo? Cejas of Estudiantes, Maxi Romero of Velez, Messidoro, Delgadillo, Vadala, Andereggen, Sandoval, Troyanski, Brunetta, Borgnino… and more. These are players with games in Primera and even Copa Libertadores unlike most of the list, who are reserve league players. What’s the problem? Clubs don’t want to allow the players because of league matches?
I think the long list from WIkipedia is complete:

The same with Velez. 2 Unknown players – Caceres, Vargas – instead Primera players – Maxi Romero and Delgadillo.
Ok. Now I know. This is list for Prima Aprilis.
I forgot about Vargas and his last year games in Primera. Vargas is not bad option. Remember his really good moments. But generally I don’t know why not rather Delgadillo and Romero. The only reason is the club don’t want to allow them because they may need the players for Primera matches, even if only on the bench. I suppose.
Mino from Rosario Central reserve team instead Lovera (playing regularly for this club in Primera), Rivas and Pereyra (with minutes in Primera)?!!! WTF?
