The Argentina World Cup away shirt has been released by FIFA with Lionel MESSI wearing the jersey.
With the home kit released a few months ago and the Argentina National Team already playing two matches with the sky blue and white World Cup shirt, the away shirt has been rumored to be different and the rumors are true. We had reported a few times about how Argentina’s secondary World Cup shirt would be black and Adidas confirmed that on Tuesday when they released pictures of Lionel MESSI wearing the World Cup away shirt and shorts for Argentina.
This would mark the first time that the Argentina National Team would have a black kit as the secondary shirt. It’s usually a blue or dark blue kit but not a black one. We also see the black Adidas shorts for the World Cup kit.
Historically, those who are superstitious saw (or see) the secondary blue colored shirt as bad luck. This dates back to the final of the 1990 World Cup when the team lost 1-0 in the final. The second match came in 2002 in the last group stage match where Marcelo BIELSA’s team drew 1-1 in a must win game against Sweden which saw Gabriel BATISTUTA play his last ever match for the Albiceleste as they crashed out of the World Cup. The third time was definitely not a charm and it came in 2006, once more an elimination by Germany in the Quarter Finals of the World Cup in Berlin. Most recently of course came the heart break of the 2014 World Cup final.

I think that Lamela over Lanzini in this scenerio could do a lot better job. Lamela has better pressing , better passing and better skill on ball. Lanzini is better shooter and faster.
To be honest, to win or to do well in WC, we need to assemble quality players as much as possible. This is why I oppose the inclusion of players like Beneditto even though to some extent they are useful. Sabella made a mistake, he filled his bench with average players. So when needed he knew he could not trust Ricky Alvarez even to be a sub.
The world cup winners always had a quality squad.
For this next world cup, I want Argentina to control the midfield and go all out on attack. Yes we might have reached WC final in 2014 with defensive tactics, however we suffer in attack. If you look at all the matches closely, Argentina was saved my moment of brilliance particularly from Messi. This time, if we control the midfield like Barca, we might concede one or two but we will score more to defeat the opponents. As for the teams with better midfield than us like Spain and Germany, we could use counter attack but at the same time do not be afraid to take initiative or have the ball. This last two seasons, park the bus tactics are not particularly working if you look at Man United, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea whereas attacking teams are flourishing like Man city, Barca, Real, Liverpool. Argentina should go all out that it is do or die. Not be too cautious of losing than wining the tournament. VAMOS ARGENTINA
1.I agree with you,and that’s why I say they can not play with a 2 men central midfield, they must play with 3 or 4 to control and dictate the game.
2. Germany dictated the tempo of the game and the ball most of the time in the final 2014, because most of their attackers are midfielders with the potential to score.
3. If one looks at man city,one will find that pep has done the same thing at city,almost all of city players, are players that have good ball control and that’s how one of the factors how city manage to keep the ball for long periods of time.
Let’s see what sampa… does. Can’t wait.
By the way I don’t like the v neck part of the away jersey.
1 change so far. Lanzini comes in place of Paredes and plays on the left side of the midfield. Meza plays on the right side. I think this is a good decision as it will add pace in our midfield.
Don’t get to much excited seeing this training as this training sampa trying various players and want to see everybody’s ability he may opt various formations also but 1 good thing is he is trying the back 4 so he most probably will field 4 man backline specially against strong teams that’s a welcome change
Yup one thing for sure is that he ditched the 3 defence system.
I still prefer 4-1-3-2/ or 4-1-3-1-1 formation. 4 man defence 1 destroyer/ dm then 3 attacking midfielder then messi and aguero as a striker
if only it did not have the stupid stripes coming from the arm pits as they ruin it.
to me it looks like a training shirt not a match shirt.
