Javier Mascherano spoke about the Argentina team being eliminated at the Olympics.
Mascherano won two gold medals with the Argentina team but was unable to coach the team to medal in France. Mascherano’s team lost 1-0 vs. France in the quarter finals of the Olympics and he spoke to the media after the match. Here is what he had to say:
“The match was practically all us. The only thing we missed was a goal
“Football has these things. Sometimes you do everything you can to win it and we did well not to lose it, but we came up empty-handed.
“We are confident that we have played until the last second as the Argentina national team has to do.
“It’s difficult to understand a game like today’s, where we had little or nothing to show for it and we had a few chances to tie it.
“It hurts a lot because we had the illusion that this team could go far.”
He also spoke about the three overage players, Gerónimo Rulli, Nicolás Otamendi and Julián Álvarez being with the team:
“I am totally grateful to the three seniors who came to give us a hand, to the juniors who were always well predisposed, to all those who have fought with the clubs to be able to be there, to those who could not be there and to those who qualified us back in January.”
He also spoke to Gastón Edul about his future:
“Go to the hotel and digest this defeat… The conditions were in place to go far.”
It’s better to seperate the sports with other topics especially racism, religion, nation, hatred, war, politic system or ideology. it will loss the beauty of sportmanship. No excuse at all.
Masche has been giving the second chance, he cannot deliver. No way to be in senior team. This olympics team is full with talented young footballers, he just can’t optimize it.
Can’t agree more. I’m sorry but as a fan i didn’t buy his system. Those crosses and play was blunt but those boys did give their all and proud for that

There is nothing harm to speak about truth and no harm to celebrate and put the salt on your opponent wounds coz it feels great. Game against Holland was whole different shit than this coz you forgot that Van Gal started all the shit and we just replied yet you as Argentina fan holding it against us. The reason the French mocking song came up only bcoz the way Mbape constantly disregarded South American football quality I think you forgot about that too again also forgot how they beat Croatia in 2018 final yet there was song about Messi and again you forgot about it . So i don’t know what truth you trying say here? Also I love how many people support Argentina it’s beautiful and in this forum people who writes their opinions about football which I find good read sometimes . We lost some regular here however it still nice . However my point was people saying we don’t have class when we did not started any of this! We were just giving it back! I don’t mind French fan says that but our fans atleast should know the truth and fact . Also I’m tired of explaining Enzo situation when i don’t find anything racist about it also I been called racist too bcoz i defended him. Anyway this will be my last post about this crap coz i am tired of explaining .
Now as far about football our boys played well but like I predicted before the match we wasn’t clinical enough. Also this French team wasn’t good at all. We lost coz of ours wasted chances plus lack of tactics and planning. We were predictable. Mascherano gave me nightmare of how we used to be once also it makes me greatful for our coaching staff. However it ain’t all gloomy coz there are some promising players in that squad even without those others who missed out. For me standout is Medina. I loved how he played in that midfield.
At junior level… African teams are always dangerous.. Morocco showing that. Egypt beat Spain and Paraguay. I am not saying about France’s African players…that would be racism for some..!

Take it from me as an African. The song might have been disrespectful to annoy France as a nation but it wasn’t racist. It’s a factually incorrect song.
Why do you blame Enzo? Did he create the song and was he the only one singing it?
