Cristian Cuti Romero spoke about the Argentina national team at the World Cup and about Lionel Messi.

Cuti Romero has been a revelation for the Argentina national team. He made his debut just before the 2021 Copa America and has been an automatic starter since his first game.

Now with the Argentina national team and with Tottenham Hotspur, Cuti Romero spoke to Star+ about the Argentina national team and the World Cup. Here is what he had to say:

“Being a starter and seeing the euphoria from everyone is crazy. I enjoy it a lot and it’s what I will remember when I retire. Five years ago, I was in Cordoba and at one point I had a bad time and I even thought about quitting football.

“I don’t cry during the anthem because I don’t want to appear ridiculous, but I get goosebumps. I am the newest and from the time I got here, they have received me in an incredible way.”

In regards to the World Cup:

“It’s the most important objective. We have created a great dream, but we have to keep our feet on the ground and know that there are many strong teams. We are doing well as a group, the internal competition is healthy.”

Romero also spoke about Lionel Messi:

“He is a simple, humble guy who wins everything and starts to drink mate with you without even knowing you. He made me adapt quickly to the group. The day I retire, I will say that I was able to play with the best in the world, the best in history. His way of being makes him bigger.”

  1. The fullbacks and wingers is major issues. Look at team like Portugal, it is all-rounded with likes of Rafael Leao, Joao cancelo, Rafael Guerrero, Nuno Mendes, not having mentioned likes of Bernardo Silva and Dias. When I c/f it to Argentina am very concerned. Our only pure LW wingers is Nico Gonzalez. That’s huge cause of Alarm. RB problem is yet to be addressed. Qatar 2022 will definitely be the toughest World cup ever.

    • Don’t get overhyped seeing Portugal. Portugal will do nothing in this world cup. They may struggle even getting out of that group they are in a tough group plus if they come second in that group they could face Brazil in 2nd round even Switzerland or Serbia not be very easy games

  2. In Every wc Argentina team is a very good team …

But for last 3/4 wc Every team has developed enough that now no team is favorite until they perform better and better than opponents…

Our group with Mexico and Poland is a tough group than people thinks..

Then next and next round will be more hard test for us..for our opponents also it will be a very tough contest..

This Time our team’s core squad is well gelled and having a very good chemistry we possess a very long unbeaten run 🏃‍♂️ 👏 💪

This will be visualized in the field strongly..

That is the difference we had in our Argentine squad in this Qatar wc22

  3. Good be confident but don’t be over confident. There r 5-6 teams there who can win this time. There is no clear favorite this time. We have a decent team this time with concern over form of our midfielders and our fullbacks. If we manage to adress that we have enough fire power uptop to beat teams

    • True. I would go further and say there are
8 strong teams which can win this tournament.
Brazil, Spain, France, Portugal, Netherlands, Germany, England and Argentina.
