Gerardo Martino spoke about Lionel Messi being substituted due to an injury for Inter Miami.

Lionel Messi started Inter Miami’s 4-0 win vs. Toronto FC on Wednesday but was substituted out after 37 minutes. At half time, coach Gerardo Martino spoke about both Messi and Jordi Alba being substituted. Here is what he had to say:

“They had to go out, we will evaluate them as the days go by.”

It’s less the age and more 1) extreme weather in florida (humidity) and 2) training/conditioning this isn’t Europe anymore !! Inter miami doesn’t train like European leagues

Planning to go to the US Open Final on Wednesday. Hopefully Leo heal completely before that. He has to play lesser games now if he wants to continue. Its the age.
