Emiliano Martínez spoke in an interview about the current crop of players in the Argentina national team.

Martínez gave an interview to Fede Rodas on DSports about the current Argentina national team and winning the World Cup. Talking about the current team, here is what Martínez had to say:

“We have a new crop of players who are flying with a structure that’s made. We have World Cup winners that are 23-24 years old. I didn’t have their mentality and their winning philosophy at that age.

“I am not going to deny that we aer now the team to beat. It’s tough to keep it up but I see the guys coming back and they don’t want to lose a match. That gives me a lot of confidence so that the ball doesn’t go in.”

He also spoke about winning the World Cup:

“I feel like I completed football. I’m not going to deny that I want to win a Champions League but at the level of Argentine football, we did it.

“I always dreamed of winning a World Cup, not the Champions League.”
