Thiago Almada is a top name for Atletico Madrid should Ángel Correa leave the club.
Almada has been linked with a move to Europe, away from Atlanta United for several months and he could be joining Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid. According to Fabrizio Romano, Almada is one of the top names on their list if Correa decides to leave.
The 22 year old has been selected for the Argentina U23 national team for their pre-Olympic tournament later this month.
Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia have approached Atletico for Correa.
Who is to blame for Angel Correa’s downfall? Morata and Depay are benching him? Is it Simeone’s lack of trust on Argentine players? Argentine managers are not the best managers for Argentina players to play under. Messi was Isolated on the field under Pochettino, and Enzo is losing confidence under him. Tata was a disaster at Barcelona. Almada will rot on bench if he moves to Atletico!
Unfortunately for Angel Correa has been at Atletico Madrid for 9 seasons. The only time he was outstanding was 2020 and 2021. I think Almada is better player. I won’t blame Simeone there.
Yup that’s the ticket Thiago, please go to Atletico so Elcholo can suck the footballing life out of you! Honestly, Almada seems to have survived going to Minor League Soccer, purely due to his obvious talent but if he goes from MLS to Atletico it will be “2 strikes and you’re out”.

It would be the best replacement. I think both have a very similar playing style too.
I think almada is better player then angel Correa
