Valentín Carboni and Ángel Correa are fighting for an Argentina spot at the Copa America.

Carboni and Correa are both fighting for a spot in the Argentina team. According to Gastón Edul, the two are fighting for one spot.

Correa, who is 29 years old, was part of the Argentina national team which won the 2021 Copa America and the 2022 World Cup. Valentín Carboni, still only 19 years old, was recently called up and played his first match for Argentina earlier this year.

  1. I could stull almost cry if I read it’s between Correa and Valentin… Don’t get me wrong, but instead of choosing one of these two I’d rather see Dybala.
    Both are talented and good, but not even close to Dybala…

  2. I like Correa a lot, he’s a skilled, tenacious player but his best position is right forward and that’s the position that both Messi and Dimaria occupy on different occasions, hence I don’t really see much use for Correa.
    As for Carboni, well he’s a real talent and he can play on the left side of the attack, which can be useful, not to mention that he can play as an enganche and even midfield and he brings youth and potential to the team.
    All in all I would probably go with Carboni even if it makes me sad to leave Correa behind because he’s a solid player.

    • And this is the reason you’re not in charge if that’s your only reason for picking a player. Smh.
      Hasn’t the best player Messi missed a few penalties himself at the Copa (2015?) And the world cup (2018 vs Iceland)? Anyone can miss a penalty. Besides no good team trying to win a tournament should be trying to do so through penalties. They should be aiming to win the game in regular 90 minutes.

    • Come on, we cannot go into a tournament fearing that we would land up with freaking shoot outs. I still feel it should be Correa. But Carboni should be called up for the qualifiers where he can be groomed for the real battle.
