The Copa America final has been delayed due to many fans entering without tickets.

Kick off for the 2024 Copa America has been delayed by at least 45 minutes after several videos showed hundreds of fans jumping over the security barricades and entering the Hard Rock stadium.

Players came out for the warm up and went back into the locker room due to the delay.

  1. So glad Argentina won and they deserved it. But this team are used to much suffering before grinding out a result. I doubt any NT can match the mentality of Argentina.

    Meanwhile the host nation were the disappointing. The embarrassment and ugly scenes squarely falls on host nation and the Colombian fans. I hope Colombia doesn’t qualify for the world cup. That’s the worst fanbase I have ever seen.

    • The heart of the champions, what grit and determination shown on the pitch. Cuti and Licha lay down their bodies like I have not seen any defender. Saliba this, Upamecano that, Araujo this, Stones that..Well Cuti and Licha are the best CB pair in the world. Why? Because they deliver consistently for their country and their club. The sooner critics and so called experts deal with the fact the better.

  53. Scaloni tactics is horrendously going wrong in the first half. We are very lucky to finish 0-0 at the half. Di Maria should have started in his position. De Paul is looking bad because of Montiel. He has to cover for him.

  58. DePaul needs to go. He is no longer the motor of this team. He needs to get his head straight. He can come back when he decides he is no longer a fashion icon. Enzo is not in form and neither is Molina. Why start Montiel though and not bench Enzo if both are out of form?
    Messi and DiMaria. Well what’s there to say really? They are old. Iconic players that no longer can perform with any level of consistency. It’s hotter than hell out here right now, and the humidity will take your breath away. Scaloni is hoping for penalties secretly because we just don’t have the legs to do the things we did. Maybe a set piece or a penalty will save us.
    Win or lose, Messi needs to go. You have to start incorporating new players in this squad. Anybody with eyes and logic can see Messi is nowhere what he used to be.

  61. Scaloni is losing the midfield battle and there is no threat whatsoever from flanks. Dimaria has to come off for Nico and may be send Locelso and Molina in as well some time around 60mins mark if Montiel continues to fail to provide basic crosses.

    • It coz De Paul holding back for Diaz. He did good job so far also I feel like Enzo should take the ball up more a bit it will draw some Colombian players towards him to make more room for others. defensively we did good so far just creativity we need one more gear

  62. Relax! First half is all about weighing up. We did have few half chances and good thing is we ain’t giving them any easy chances. Colombia does look vulnerable when we attack so we should exploit that. Messi shot easily could have been on target if Alvarez accidentally didn’t block it also at beginning Alvarez was wide. We always pick the game up in second half so let’s see.

    For the first time in my life, I want Lo Celso in the game. We got completely outran in the midfield. Di Maria will not find any opportunity in this game so he needs to be taken off.

    • That’s why I was against Enzo Fernandez starting this game. Paredes excels in this kind of matches. DePaul is simply annoying, Tagliafico the weak link.

      • exactly, colombia pressing means we need to lock them with paredes, paredes doesn’t have great forward movement but its 10x better then leaving de paul to do the defensivw work because he cannot do that

From the problem with the field since day one of the tournament, to the bullshit of 25-minute half time break just to sneak in some ads, to the absence of security in the Uruguay vs Colombia game, and now this. How could they not even get it right with something as basics as letting those who have purchased tickets into the stadium? How could they let fans who don’t have ticket sneak into the stadium or clock up the area outside?? Do they even have any sort of procedure to handle this situation?

    Worst part is, people have been complaining since the first day of the tournament. But they all felt on deaf ears. Now that the Euro has ended, everyone in the world will see how bad you are.

    • Yep. I’m seeing reports of tons of people without tickets getting in, tons of people WITH tickets staying out, and it seems that the exact same mistake of having the Argentine families (like the Uruguayan families) in the middle of hordes of Colombian fans. The fact that CONMEBOL let this happen TWICE is unconscionable. Any average person knows you have to send the families to private seating. Who is running this thing? It is so incompetent it seems on purpose. And of course a Brazilian ref like always, we’ll never escape from that one, even if it’s painstakingly obvious to anyone that understands football in the slightest (even basement dwellers) that you can’t have a Brazilian or Argentine refereeing the other team’s games. How can the “professionals” not see this?

    • Seriously? Not 15? Wow. It feels like this game will have been five hours in terms of me waiting at the television watching it get postponed multiple times, a long half time, possibility for extra time, and then the length of the celebration afterwards if we win. If we win though, I won’t care at all, it’ll be worth it

  96. I hope the team realizes that Colombia, despite being obviously inferior, will be out for blood. This is THE moment for them. They haven’t been in a final in over 20 years and probably feel a similar pressure to what we did in 2021 against Brazil, they know they are underdogs. I fear they will play like Ecuador in the quarters, who despite being inferior were extremely aggressive and focused to compensate. It may feel that we are “meant” to win like we were in the World Cup and in the Maracana final but nothing is ever guaranteed. Hopefully we won’t suffer the way we did like with France.

    • Columbia cannot play like ecudaor. Coz if they play julian and di maria going to punish them. Columbia has not played with julian before and it is way different from lautaro. Their defense is going to get punished from even a silly mistake.

      • Good point. The last time it was Lautaro who scored against them and has a very different style of pressing from Alvarez. Let’s hope you’re right. But I just know that this game is VERY important to Colombia. Whatever happens tactically they will try.
