A video has surfaced of Lionel Messi’s reaction to Lautaro Martínez scoring in the Copa America final.

Lionel Messi started Argentina’s 1-0 win vs. Colombia in the Copa America final but was substituted out due to injury. Messi, who was in tears and had a swollen right ankle, was on the bench when Lautaro scored to give Argentina the 1-0 lead.

Messi was shown standing, celebrating while players ran to celebrate and Roberto Ayala would hug Messi, celebrating the goal.

  1. I see many people here wanting Messi to retire. A bunch of morons lol. I have seen his recent MLS matches, when fully fit he is still one of the best attacking mid cum striker if not the best. Additionally, the strongest characteristic of this Argentina side is unity and brotherhood in the team and Messi is a huge factor for the same. The young players play for Messi as much as for their country. There is a reason why Scaloni would want to keep Messi in the coaching staff when he retires. Messi makes the job of Scaloni so much easier.

  2. What a freaking team. Best team in the world. Other than Columbia and Spain, no one can really challenge us at this point.
Yeah we might lose a qualifier…. But when it really counts, we win and prove that we are the greatest team of this decade so far. I’m happy.

  3. Barcelona’s new manager not showing interested in Julian even though they have an aging Lewandowski may have something to do their current financial situation and Nico Williams transfer. However, if their decision was based on Julian’s performance in the last quater of the previous season then its nothing but a stupid mistake.

Julian never got the same service Haaland received and couple that with him playing multiple positions for them sometimes in a single match and still Julian adjusted and adapted to everything asked from him. The number of chances Haaland misses and disappears when heavily marked is generally ignored because of his goals against weaker sides. Julian in no9 position and provide him the same service he will give you a 25+ goals and plenty of assist every season. I don’t mind him going to Atletico Madrid, unlike Felix he can play as an out an out striker and he can easily fill in for Grizemann like he did for KDB at City.

  4. Olympique Marseille’s attempt to loan Valentín Carboni was rejected by Inter and they insisted they would only sell him outright for 30 mil. Insane amount for a player, who has not really shown much thus far. But De Zerbi is adamant he wants Carboni and OM are back negotiating. At Inter, Carboni won’t fit in as he is not a winger but OM plan to use him as an enganche.
Echeverri would stay at River till December, and in Jan would be loaned to either Sociedad or Las Palmas.
    Dybala to stay at Roma.
Soule on his way to Roma even though Juve would like to sell him to Leicester.
Julián has rejected City’s new deal and wants to move out. Barcelona board is interested but coach Flick doesn’t want him, there were talks of Chelsea but Atlético Madrid have made a move.
Olympic team LB Julio Soler is close to signing for FC Porto.

    • Thanks for the info. I think Julian has had two good seasons at city, he has won the league and ucl. Now its time to move. ATL Madrid is not a bad choice if he is used as the main attacker as they will most probably play UCL every year.
The next two years are very imp for the core team who would lead the team in 2026- Romero, cuti, Macca, RDP, Julian, Lautaro, Molina Dibu. I dont think this core will change much. Younger players will be added to this core and I hope Dybala makes a comeback too.

    • Yes they played really well. It was one hell of a final match, the world should have witnessed what a South American final can truly mean. But I also thought that Colombia was playing at a higher gear right from the word go, and therefore might have a chokehold during the end of the match. I thought our tempo wasn’t there to begin with, we were playing catching up but then we began to slow down the tempo of the game by the 28th minute, and from the second half switched to another gear. When Leo was gone, Colombia found out that Argentina could press hard as well. And one thing that I saw in this match was, as the match progressed into the fag end, Rodrigo De Paul became a beast to reckon with. That 1-2 move with Di Maria with the underlap into the box and the cutback only to be denied by a straight shoot to the Gk from Nico- that was insane. There’s 98 percent of the audience who just consider De paul as a bodyguard of Leo, those s***holes know nothing about football, De Paul was an absolute baller for Udinese, and when the opportunity rises, he still shows what a fine ball progressor he is. Also I have been highly critical of Nico and yes, he still fumbled, but the way he rushed the Colombian defense once he came on, it showed a lot of perseverance, fight and grit. I also felt immensely secure looking at the defensive formation of the best CB pair in the world. Licha and Cuti were immaculate to say the least. Tagli played another beastly game as a left back. My goodness, he was so good. The build up plays, the behind the line runs, he was absolutely perfect. And what about the trio…Paro just came to the pitch like it belonged to him and started gobbling up every possessional play that was there. Man that tackle, the no look pass to Lo Celso, who then put that magical through ball to open up the defense, when El Toro just blasted the ball into the net. It was a night that started with pandemonium in the stadium, we were literally playing an away match at Florida, with a Brazilian referee no less, then it was a rather unconvincing start with Colombia playing their usual high press game where we looked quite docile, but then as the night went along, we showed what champion material we are. Vamoss Argentina!!! Vamosss!!!

    • Hey, Columbia is top five team in the world right now . They have almost every position covered and in some cases they have a backup for some positions who is worthy of a start.
Don’t let anyone say we didn’t play well … We were facing a staunch defense, an organized an physical midfield and a very brave offense…. Not to forget the size of half their players… They could be Rugby players if they wanted .
We won against a team who deserved to be there.

  5. Without Messi there is no title. Many keyboard coaches are even better than coach Scaloni when they constantly cry in despair that Messi should retire from the national team, play like a handicap, the team plays for Messi, without Messi the team would still win, etc. Lol
