Emiliano Buendía scored for Aston Villa in their 2-1 win vs. Wycombe.

Buendía got his first goal for Aston Villa since March 2023, scoring in their EFL Cup win. A loose ball inside the penalty area fell to the Argentine in the air and he would head the ball and score to give Aston Villa the 1-0 lead.

  1. Good to see Buendia back, the poor guy had one hell of a nasty injury. He’s actually very talented and if and when he gets back to his best form, Argentina could really use him.

I’ve caught up on some games from last weekend and beyond and I have to say that Paz and Perrone are impressing me at Como. I think both should be called up for the next WCQ and based on what I’ve seen from Guido and Paredes I really think it’s time for those 2 to be replaced by Varela and Perrone.

Celso is having a hell’va a good time with Betis and I pray that he stays fit and show everyone his true class.

Barco is getting more and more playing time with Sevilla and I gotta say that the kid’s got something. His speed, tenacity and hard work is just impressive and his defensive is improving as well, but he’s got to work on his shooting cos if he goes any higher he’ll end up knocking one of SpaceX’s satellites.

Lastly, I’m watching Deportivo Alavez these days, mainly for Luka Romero who sadly isn’t doing well (still 19 so I’m not giving up on him) but in the process I discovered that their RB, Nahuel Tenaglia is actually Argentino and he’s quite good! Too bad he didn’t play against Real (I think he had a knock). The guy is 28yrs, so not exactly young but as I said he’s good and considering Montiel’s lack of playing time I think and hope that Scaloni knows about him.
