Spanish outlet MARCA have named Lionel Messi as the greatest football player of all time.
Lionel Messi was honored in Miami, Florida on Thursday by the Spanish outlet for being the greatest football player in history. Three Argentine players made the top six with Diego Maradona at five, Alfredo Di Stéfano at four and Lionel Messi first.
In sixth was Johan Cruyff, third was Pelé and Cristiano Ronaldo in second behind Messi.
I can see arguments for Maradona, Messi and Pele as the top three and in any order. But putting CR7 in there with them is ridiculous. He’s obviously one of the greats just due to goal scoring stats. But not in the league of those three guys.

5. Cruyff
6. Zidane
7. Ronaldo R9

10. Beckenbauer
Pretty faire and solid ranking. Do you think Ronaldinho should be somewhere in the ranking? Had it not been for his short lived career, he would have definetly make it to the list of the legends.
This is a nice list.
Maradona at 5, Di Stefano at 4? No way. Diego should me number 2, Crynaldo nowhere near his level.
