The latest FIFA rankings were updated on Wednesday, and Argentina continues to hold the top spot. It’s now been a year and a half since the Albiceleste took the lead in the standings.

The national team previously held the No. 1 ranking for 11 months between April 2016 and March 2017, during the cycles of Gerardo Martino and Edgardo Bauza. To catch up with Brazil’s record, which held the top position between 1994 and 2001, Argentina will need to maintain its lead.

Here is the current top 10:

1. Argentina: 1889.02 points

2. France: 1851.2 points

3. Spain: 1836.42 points

4. England: 1817.28 points

5. Brazil: 1772.02 points

6. Belgium: 1768.14 points

7. Netherlands: 1759.95 points

8. Portugal: 1752.14 points

9. Colombia: 1738.72 points

10. Italy: 1726.31 points

  1. N. Perez and alan varela are performing well for thier club fc Porto both deserves call up they should replace paredes who doesn’t got enough minutes at Rome and OTAMENDI who is declining massively the other day in the Champions League he was a horrible 36 years old who will be 38 by the time world cup come it’s absolutely make no sense to be key part In the current squad scaloni should gradually drop him

    • That’s what I’ve been saying all along for the last 3 years. With likes of Enzo Fernandez underperforming, the midfield needs competition. Retaining old guards like Otamedi & Pezella is “criminal” whereas there are better younger players out there who could deliver.

  2. Belgium is still milking the points of yesteryears, I don’t think they are a top 10 team anymore…they’re still coasting on points accumulated in previous years
