Paulo Dybala’s contract with AS Roma has been extended.
Dybala will remain with the club until next year. The club has announced that the Argentine’s contract has automatically been extended until June 26 with a release clause of €12 million.
The 31 year old joined AS Roma in 2022 from Juventus.
This is a very important development for his international career. His fitness has improved significantly compared to previous seasons when he would consistently miss 2 to 4 weeks if played 3 to 4 consecutive games. However, this season he hasn’t been able to replicate similar level of performance from previous seasons. May be this could be linked to his extended run without injuries because he is more focused on staying injury free ?
You have not been watching the games then. He was unsettled in the beginning due to Arab transfer fiasco, being benched to prevent him from triggering automatic renewal. Something similar was being done to Paredes to get him to accept transfer deals. Roma was suffering as a result.
One of the first things Ranieri did is to put Dybala and Paredes back in the first team. Now Dybala is playing great football, and Roma has moved from 15th to 9th. Dybala was Serie A player of the month in December.
