Lionel Messi scores for Inter Miami in 1-1 draw vs. Toronto FC

Lionel Messi scored for Inter Miami in their 1-1 draw against Toronto FC.

Messi made it three goals in four league matches this season, scoring three goals in his last three games. The 37 year old had a goal disallowed for a foul and Toronto FC took a 1-0 lead but it was Messi who would get Inter Miami’s only goal of the match.

The Argentine would receive the ball on the edge of the penalty area and his effort would beat the goalkeeper to draw Inter Miami level. He now has 856 career goals.

  1. Macherano is already beginning to show early signs of struggle with Inter Miami, but he is not the only Argentine manager facing such difficulties! Diego Simeone’s ultra defensive outdated tactics are continuing to leak goals and have now seen Atletico Madrid get elimiated from 2 major competitions. In Laliga they are 7 points behind Barca with just eight matches remaining. It is highly unlikely that Simeone’s ultra defensive strategy is good enough to close that gap, especially with the form Barca is in right now.

Another highly overated Argentine, while not a coach is Mr.Garnacho, who had another disappointing performance. He might be one of the very few fowards with worst finishing skills to wear the senior Argentine shirt since I started watching futbal! At United his pathetic finishing along with miserable dribbling are followed by blind attempts at the goal when he runs out of real-estate! Their over reliance on over-hyped youngster has cost them dearly and unless they win the Europa leauge a feat that is impossible with Garnacho in attack, they will not even participate in Conference league. Thank you Scaloni for dropping this guy. He needs to improve all the aspects of his game to next level if he wants to earn a spot on the bench for Argentina.

    • Being a bit harsh with Garnacho aren’t you Sulav? The club he’s playing in is a big mess and he’s playing as a right sided attacking midfielder in a 3-4-3, which really isn’t his strength. With all that being said I do agree that he has A LOT to learn, he needs to vastly improve his decision making on the field and his attitude off it, but he is athletic and talented and with some attitude adjustment and better tactics he could turn out right.

  2. Enzo Barrenechea had a good game against Real Madrid, he is similar player to paredes deep laying playmaker i think he will be a regularly member squad with nt very soon
Barco is having great time in France it’s only matter of time now to be in nt
Foyth is playing his original position for villareal which is right centre back

    • I just watched a lot of the Valencia match and I have to say that Barrenechea continues to prove that he’s a capable DMF who is constantly improving. He has now played in 2 relegation threatened teams (Frozinone and Valancia) in 2 strong leagues (Serie A, La Liga) and he has handled himself quite admirably. In fact his passing has improved quite a bit this season and his work rate is as high as ever. If Aston Villa is smart they’d get him back next season because they could sure use a player like him in the midfield.
