Thiago Almada scored for Lyon in their 2-2 draw against Manchester United.
Almada got his first goal in European competition, scoring in the Europa League. With the score at 0-0, Lyon were awarded a free kick and it was Almada who took it.
The Argentine would cross the ball into the penalty area and it would go through everyone and score to give Lyon the 1-0 lead. United would score and take a 2-1 lead but Lyon would draw level in injury time with Almada having a pass in the goal.
Alejandro Garnacho started the match for United while Nicolás Tagliafico started for Lyon.

Of that talented Velez generation, seemingly only Almada and Nico Dominguez have lived up to the expectations. Currently they have a promising CB, Valentin Gomez.
Yes we all remember about Caseres (one short period in Villarreal, back in Velez but always injured) Robertone (spanish second division but a talented player) Matias Vargas and so on. Now Velez have an even better generation with Valentin Gomez, Ordonez (Parma next year) Sarco (Leverkusen) Prestianni, Montoro and Carrizo (these two seem the real deals)+still high hopes on Prestianni.
+Perrone ofc
Yes, Perrone, but somehow I am not super impressed by him, but if Fabregas and Scaloni see something, who am I to second guess that?
+Thiago Fernandez (sadly with ACL)
Yup Valentin Gomez is a beast from what I hear (haven’t been watching the Primera for a while sadly).
Perrone is the real deal and next to Barranechea I think Argentina is sorted for DM for the near future (sadly Scaloni doesn’t rate Varela at all).
Presstianni is a sad case because he got a few starts at the beginning of the season but did nothing with’em and now I don’t even know if he’s still in Benfica anymore.
Ordonez and Sarco I know nothing on so I won’t comment but Velez as a whole has always been a hub of talent and hope that continues.
I desperately want Lautaro Martinez to win champions league but inter Milan must overcome fcbayern and fcb before they face in the final psg or arsenal
Almada is the real deal, he’s been playing quite well with Lyon and Argentina and if he continues on this trajectory the big clubs will come in calling next year.
Almada is so talented and I’m he is doing well at lyon, he is now ahead of the picking order of lo celso in the nt
He might be ahead of Lo Celso, but I think Scaloni has him in mind for a different position, so maybe they are not in direct competition per se.
Agreed, Almada might just replace Nico Gonzalez in the attacking front 3 with Lio and either Lautaro or Julian being the other 2.
Celso is, as of right now, a midfield back up to either DePaul, Mac or Enzo.
