  2. Messi proved once again against a European team that he’s still got it. The number of chances he created and the free kick he scored show that he’s become an incredible playmaker, maybe even better than Zidane or Xavi, and the best we’ve seen since Maradona.

He’s not as fast as he used to be which has affected his dribbling significantly, and his finishing isn’t as sharp as before. But his vision and passing are still on another level. With a solid striker up front and quick wingers and fullbacks, Messi can still cause serious problems for any defense.

  3. Fun fact : CR is CWC top scorer with 7 goals but Messi now is only 1 goal behind.

Even in his 40, CR wont be able to sleep well until Messi call it a day lol

    • Penaldo can suck on his 7 goals, Leo already has 2 golden balls and a silver ball to his name in the CWC. There is nothing left to prove, really.

      • Well, Messi has won WC ( reached 2 finals) + 2 WC golden balls so thats not the point.

My point is, Messi equalling or surpassing his CWC goalscoring record would still piss him off.

      • He only scores against weak teams but not always. When he gets going he would take advantage of a weak defense and score a hattric. Thus making his goal counts better.

    • He once scored 4 goals in single match this season, which mean he has used all his goal quota for this season.
