Di María had the first goal of the match and the last goal of the match, making it three goals in two matches. With the score at 0-0, Benfica were awarded a penalty kick.
It was Di María who took it, going to the goalkeeper’s left to score and give Benfica the 1-0 lead. The match was suspended due to weather conditions but was resumed.
With Benfica leading 5-0, they were awarded another penalty kick and this time it was Di María once more who scored.
