Lionel Messi is considering changing clubs before the World Cup.
Messi could be playing at a different club before the start of the World Cup next year. According to Esteban Edul, the 38 year old is considering playing elsewhere, other than Inter Miami, before the World Cup next year with the Argentina national team.
Speaking on television, here us what Esteban Edul had to say:
“Leo Messi and his family told me on Friday, that he is considering playing somewhere else for the six months leading up to the World Cup. At one point, he had his contract settled to stay on, but now that’s been put on hold.
“The first clubs that come to my mind are Newell’s and Barcelona.”
He had his contract put in place to remain with Inter Miami but that has since been put on hold. The Argentine has been with Inter Miami for two years.
It won’t make any difference. The guy is OLD. We all lose the battle against time. He is a bench player now to me. At some point you gotta move on. 39 seems the right time to me. He has been playing pro for 22 years. Unless there is some medical miracle, we all break down.

Yes, Inter’s level has dropped down way, way too much and way, way too fast as really surprised to see how much the level has dropped with the like’s of Barella, Bastoni, Di Marco and Dumfriess and Thuram who are all not so old yet at all and have been after TORO their key players? So strange to see them to loose 5-0 against PSG, though there were warning signs against Bayern and Barca and surely Enrique’s PSG are currently above others, but still as perfornance with such a pathethic against PSG from Inter and now even worse to follow! Loosing Serie A with 1 point difference and just, because they blew it away by themselves even in second last natch of the Serie A Napoli still gave them chance to even up the gap, but Inter did not capitalize it! All this and getting knocked out of Copa Italia by their rivals AC Milan must had surely unsettle Inzaghi and dressing room and upsett their approach against PSG, though surely they would had lost anyhow, but maybe not in manner as they did and just like now too!
It kind looks like none of them are currently intrested to remain with Inter’s shinking ship and therefore it would be the best possible time for TORO to move on, but with with less than year remaining til’ WC…? Well, not fully sure where he should move to if, that will be the case? Without next year’s WC would surely like to see him in EPL , but thinking of the physical side of EPL…, well not so sure if i want him to move there less, than year remaining til’ WC! Obviously his own decission and rightly so, but just want him to be at his best and fully fit for the WC! If he stays with Inter, then would love to see Almada joining as surely Inter need to bolster their squad and need to sign or loan 1-2,middfielder’s too as if they could get some one like Barrenechea with Almada would be great! But, i quess i’n hoping for too much…
This would be a smart move. I watched Messi look around during the PSG game like “who are all of these bums?” Including his former teammates who he wanted to play with. Sergio Busquets tried to dribble in his box – pickpocketed and goal!. Messi delivers a world class pass to Luis Suarez with terrible first touch (old Suarez would have volley 1st time without hesitation).
Messi can still play but not all 90 minutes all the time. Only important matches. However, he needs to train in quality technical, European side like Real Betis, Roma, etc. No top tier teams like RM, Barca – he needs to play Riquelme at Villarreal role.
So I guess he answered the question whether he’s playing next summer or not.
I’m conflicted about his decision!
