As long as FIFA does not mandate clubs to release players, it going to be a talent loss in these tournaments. Maybe what needs to be done is make the U20 WC once in 4years instead of current 2 & then mandate clubs to release players of interest.
Its unfortunate Echiverri is cooling heels in Leverkusen bench & not lighting the U20 WC with his skills. But still expecting Placente to do well here as all countries are impacted with club refusals. AFA has still done a decent job of getting Prestinanni, Montaro, Sarco , Soler , Perez from Europe . Wld have just wished Echiverri & Hidalgo also made it from Europe. Mastantuono anyway was going to miss considering his La Liga minutes.
Same ‘ole BS, best players missing because their sorry clubs, GOD forbid miss seeing them sitting on their own benches.
