  1. Mark my word equi Fernandez will be starter for Argentina very soon, I have watched bayer Leverkusen match today he was so impressive. honestly he is all around midfielder just watch out

    • I still don’t see it, thus far he’s been just ok IMO and I’ve only seen him shine a bit in the Olympics but it’s still early to call. For the defensive midfield position I would take 2 of either Perrone, Barranechea or Varela. All are impressive with Perrone being the best passer, Barrannechea being the best defender and Varela being the best ball holder/facilitator but because Vaela plays in a weaker league he’s behind Perrone and Barranechea (plays at the same league but also plays CL, which gives him an advantage).
Valentin Barco is also an interesting prospect in the midfield, I watched the Strasbourg-Marseille game and Valentin seems to be maturing with his passing and decision making. It’s still a bit early for him but if he keeps improving and keeps proving his versatility he should be considered before the 2026 world cup.

      • Equi & Paz should make the WC squad at any cost. Was super impressed with Equi in Olympics & so relieved he escaped from Saudi league in an year. Somehow never been impressed with Peronne. Not seen Barrannechea & Varela closely. But atleast looking at player ratings & highlights, always feel Varela like Senesi & Soule is being wrongly ignored by Scaloni.

      • Agree with you for a great extent .it’s early to call equi . Not at the moment, he need to prove. Last match barco is doing excellent , getting better day by day.barrenchea is a proper DM . Good competition for paredes. Nico paz is brilliant but unsure about the league. Italian league standards are dropping. Mastantuono at the moment no way. He cant dribble one to one , play style is same, positioning, still 18 so he have time to improve. Good for a 18 yesr old.

  2. After Atleti defeated Rayo Vallecano, I said Atleti’s season has just started. Now that’s official. I think those who usually criticize Simeone for putting his son in the starting lineup will now understand the importance of Giuliano for Simeone’s system. The kid is very good, but needs a little improvement in some areas. Alvarez had another near perfect game and Nico did very well. Vamos Atleti.

    • Giuliano is a very important player, the type of player that all teams need. He’s got skill, athleticism and the right ‘work hard & never stop’ attitude. Sure he can be frustrating sometimes but the kid has the attributes of an important squad player.
For Argentina I’d still put him behind Soule as a backup RFW….atleast for now, who knows Mastantuono might develop in that position but I see Franco (in Argentina atleast) as more of a DePaul or Allister type, a b-2-b type who does pretty much everything in the midfield, the same goes for Nico Paz.
