The Argentina U20 national team won 4-1 against Australia at the U20 World Cup.
Diego Placente’s team qualified for the Round of 16 at the U20 World Cup with their win against Australia as they made it two wins out of two games. Gorosito would play a through ball in from the wing which would find Alejo Sarco and he would beat his marker and score to give Argentina the 1-0 lead.
With Argentina leading 1-0, Australia would score but the referee would disallow the goal due to a foul. Still at 1-0, Carrizo would receive the ball inside the penalty area on the wing and pass it to Pérez and he would score from close range.
Álvaro Montoro would come close to scoring but his effort hit the cross bar. Two minutes after Montoro’s effort, Argentina goalkeeper Santino Barbi came out of the penalty area but missed the ball and Daniel Bennie would score the open goal.
In injury time, Delgado would get the ball inside the penalty area on the left hand side and pass it to Ian Subiabre who would score to give Argentina the 3-1 lead. Moments later, Andrada would score from the edge of the penalty area and his effort would go into the top of the goal to make it 4-1 for Argentina.
Placente’s team will play Italy on Saturday and if Argentina draw or win, they would top their group.
