Emiliano Buendía scored as he and Emiliano Martínez won the Europa League with Aston Villa.
With Aston Villa leading 1-0 against Freiburg in the Europa League final, Buendía received the ball outside of the penalty area and scored to give Aston Villa the 2-0 lead. Aston Villa would score another goal and Aston Villa would win the Europa League.
Buendía finished the Europa League with four goals and six assists in 15 matches. Emiliano Martínez also started the match for Aston Villa and did not allow a goal.
The Argentine was named as the player of the match.
