Julián Álvarez has spoken about the World Cup, the Argentina national team, Lionel Messi and playing alongside Lautaro Martínez.
Álvarez was part of the Argentina national team that won the 2022 World Cup and the Argentine is set to be part of the Argentina national team for the World Cup. Speaking in an interview with FIFA, here is what he had to say:
“We always think about being champions, there is no other way. We want to make the final, we know it is not easy and it costs a lot.
“If we win the World Cup again, it would pass in history because we would be back to back World Cup champions, on top of having won two Copa America titles.
“Everyone knows that this could be Leo’s last World Cup. It will be very special.”
He also spoke about playing alongside Lautaro Martínez:
“Playing alongside Lautaro is a pleasure, when we play together, we play well. And when one is picked over the other, we hope the best for the team.
“The internal competition makes the other one better every day.”
