López started for Palmeiras and scored their only goal of the match in their first match of the Copa Libertadores Round of 16 against Club Cerro Porteño. With the score at 0-0, it was a pass into the penalty area to López and he scored from close range to give Palmeiras the 1-0 lead.
The 25 year old was substituted out after his goal. Carlos Miguel would score an own goal and Andreas Pereira would get a red card for Palmeiras.
