that’s really unfortunate. that effectively rules him out of next few qualifiers and copa america. he is 32 but all drama aside he was a very solid player for us in every tournament, anyone who disagrees is new to football and is clearly a newcomer here.
On the other hand, I’m glad Molina is out. He is just too unreliable, now hopefully Montiel or some youngster can get more time.
Argentina has already qualified for the 2030 World Cup as one of the host nations, with Argentina set to host one match.
Argentina is already overloaded with defensive midfielders. What the team desperately needs is a genuine creative playmaker who can control the tempo, break lines, and consistently create chances.
Enzo isn’t that player. Argentina needs someone with more of an Olise-type profile: technically gifted, creative, progressive, and capable of unlocking a defense rather than simply recycling possession.
With Messi’s eventual departure, Argentina cannot expect the next generation to simply inherit his creativity. The midfield needs a fundamental rebuild, and finding a true playmaker should be one of Scaloni’s biggest priorities.
Paredes needs to be moved on from anyways.
