Julián Álvarez was whistled by Atletico Madrid fans and went to the tunnel after the match.
Álvarez started Atletico Madrid’s 2-2 draw against Villarreal on the bench and was whistled by the fans before and during the game. When Julián’s name was mentioned during the stadium prior to the match, Atletico Madrid fans whistled, showing their dislike as he has been rumored to be leaving the club.
The 26 year old was substituted into the game and while being substituted, the fans whistled him. Following the match, Atletico Madrid players stood on the pitch to applaud the fans but Julián Álvarez left straight to the tunnel.
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone confirmed that it was the Atletico staff that told Álvarez to leave the pitch after the fans started whistling. He was going with the players to applaud the fans.
