Cristian Romero has commented on Lionel Messi retiring from the Argentina national team.
Romero posted a message on his social media about Lionel Messi retiring. Here is what he had to say:
“What madness that this day has finally come, dear Leo.
“Ever since I was a kid, I dreamed of meeting you one day. But I never imagined life would give me the chance to share so many moments with you and to live alongside you through the most beautiful and successful era in the history of our national team.
“Simply saying ‘thank you’ will never be enough.
Thank you for the unforgettable legacy you leave behind, for teaching us to never give up, and for every word, every conversation and every moment in which you showed us the way.
“Thank you for leading in the most beautiful way possible, never putting yourself above anyone, always with that humility and that special way of carrying our badge and defending it with all your heart.

We all knew this day was coming especially at the conclusion of the WC and more so after the passing of his father, I don’t believe any footballer in the history of football retires with more of peace of mind than Messi, the man literally won everything a team or an individual could win and many are multiple times over.
As much as I am sad that we ‘ll never get to see Messi wearing the sky-blue and white again but everything comes to an end and it’s time to look forward to the future, giving Scaloni time to decide on what he wants to do and what players to go forward and there are plenty.
This is not the end but a new beginning of newer, fresher, faster and hopefully new discovered talent.
I know that he said he’s retired, but I hope he does a farewell match so he can put the jersey one one more time.
