FC Porto officially announced on Thursday that Alan Varela has signed a contract extension with the club until 2030.
According to reports, the 23-year-old midfielder now has a €75 million release clause.
Varela joined the Portuguese club in 2023 from Boca Juniors and has become one of the most requested players by fans to be called up to the Argentina national team.
Julián Álvarez has been named as the Atletico Madrid Player of the Season.
Álvarez has won the award in his first season at the club. The Argentine finished the season with 29 goals and seven assists.
He had 17 goals and four assists in 37 La Liga matches, seven goals and one assist in 10 Champions League matches and five goals and two assists in seven Copa del Rey matches.
The 25 year old joined Atletico Madrid from Manchester City on a six year deal.
Everton are set to activate the €15 million buy option clause for Carlos Alcaraz from Flamengo, according to reports by journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The 22-year-old Argentine was on loan this season with the English club, which finished 13th in the 2024/2025 Premier League. This year, Alcaraz played in 15 matches and scored 2 goals.

Kevin Lomónaco and Juan Nardoni have both been called up to the Argentina national team.
It is a first call-up to the Argentina national team for both players as the reigning World Cup champions will play Chile and Colombia in next month’s World Cup qualifiers. Lomónaco of Independiente is a 23 year old centre-back while Nardoni of of Racing is a 22 year old midfielder.
The Argentina national team will play Chile in Chile on Thursday, June 5 and on Tuesday, June 10 will play Colombia in Argentina.
Argentina are in Group D at the 2025 U20 World Cup, with Italy, Australia and Cuba.
Diego Placente’s team have been drawn in Group D for the U20 World Cup which will take place between September 27 and October 19 in Chile. Argentina have won the U20 World Cup a record six times.
