Thiago Almada was officially unveiled as a new Olympique Lyonnais player this Wednesday, joining from Botafogo.

The French club introduced him on social media with the caption, “Un champion du monde peut en cacher un autre” (a world champion may hide another), referencing Almada’s new teammate, Nicolás Tagliafico.

The presentation video included many nods to Argentina, such as a mate and traditional music. Additionally, it featured a playful text message from Lionel Messi to Almada, saying, “Do not listen to Cristiano (Ronaldo), Ligue 1 is incredible.”

Romero is going to be joining Cruz Azul and leaving Europe. According to César Luis Merlo, the 20 year old joins them for €3.5 million on a five year contract.

The Argentine will now have played for Mallorca, Lazio, Milan, Almería, Alavés and Cruz Azul.
