The Argentina national team’s 2024 schedule, Copa America, World Cup qualifiers

The Argentina national team’s 2024 schedule could have a total of 16 matches with the Copa America, the World Cup qualifiers and friendly matches.

A big happy new year to the entire Mundo Albiceleste family. May 2024 bring us all what we desire!

The year 2023 brought Argentina many individual awards and 2024 brings the opportunity to win another trophy. Before reaching the 2024 Copa America in the United States, Argentina could play four matches before the tournament.

Argentina will play two friendly matches in March and both could be played in the United States. The two games were initially rumored to be against European teams but that has not been finalized.

FIFA has two more dates for friendly matches in June between June 3 and June 11 but there are no reports as to Argentina’s opponents and if they will play two matches. The Copa America begins on June 20 and Lionel Scaloni could use the June matches to prepare for the tournament.

Reigning Copa America champions Argentina will play the opening match on June 20 against either Canada or Trinidad and Tobago. After that is a match on June 25 against Chile and the third match on June 29 against Peru.

Unlike the World Cup, the Copa America is a six match tournament and this could mean that Argentina could play six matches at the Copa America. After the Copa America, it’s the World Cup qualifiers.

They will be back in South Ameruca and just like in 2023, the team will play two matches in September, two in October and two in November. The first match in September is at home vs. Chile and the second is away against Colombia.

October will have Argentina playing away against Venezuela and the World Cup cycle restarts, with the team playing against Bolivia. This time, the match against Bolivia will be at home.

In November, Argentina will play away against Paraguay and in the last match of the year, they will play at home against Peru. Argentina could play a total of four friendly matches, six Copa America matches and six matches in the World Cup qualifiers.
