The 2024 Copa America draw tonight, Argentina in Group A

The 2024 Copa America draw takes place tonight and Argentina are in Group A.

Reigning Copa America champions Argentina will be in Group A for the 2024 Copa America with Mexico in Group B, the United States in Group C and Brazil in Group D. The draw takes place tonight in Miami.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni will be attending the Copa America draw and he will be sitting with the other coaches. The AFA President Claudio Tapia will also be attending the draw.

Lionel Scaloni’s team will be playing their three group stages matches on the east coast. Their first will be against the opponent from A4 on June 20 in Atlanta at the Mercedes Benz stadium.

Scaloni’s team will play their second match against the opponent from A3 on June 25 in New Jersey at Metlife stadium. The last match will be against the team from A2 on June 29 in Miami at the Hard Rock stadium.

A total of 14 stadiums have been announced for the Copa America:

Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, California
Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia
MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey
NRG Stadium, Houston, Texas
Q2 Stadium, Austin, Texas
SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California
State Farm Stadium, Glendale, Arizona

Pot 1 has Argentina, Mexico, United States and Brazil. Pot 2 has Uruguay, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.

Pot 3 has Chile, Panama, Venezuela and Paraguay. Pot 4 has Jamaica, Bolivia and two Concacaf teams that will qualify through playoffs.

Messi continues to get recognition. Vogue announced their 15 fashion items of 2023 and Lionel Messi’s pink Inter Miami shirt has been included.

The Best player in the world joined Inter Miami in the summer and his shirt was instantly sold out. The recognition comes after Messi was named as TIME’s 2023 Athlete of the Year, earlier this week.

Guido Rodríguez suffered a fracture to his right leg and underwent surgery on Thursday.

Rodríguez suffered a fracture of the distal fibula of his right leg while training with Real Betis. The club confirmed that he successfully underwent surgery on Thursday morning.

Alexis Mac Allister has shared an update after being substituted off for Liverpool.

Mac Allister started Liverpool’s 2-0 win vs. Sheffield United but was substituted out early in the second half. The 24 year old took a blow to his handle and he did require attention.

He did receive another knock in the second half and was substituted out. Mac Allister took to his Instagram and posted the following:

“Everything’s fine. I got a few stitches, but I’ll bounce back soon. We keep going. Come on Liverpool.”

Emiliano Martínez kept another clean sheet in Aston Villa’s 1-0 win vs. Manchester City.

Martínez made two big saves on Erling Haaland early in the match and the best goalkeeper in the world had a great performance. With the win, Aston Villa are now third in the Premier League, ahead of Manchester City.

Villa stand on 32 points, two ahead of City and two behind Liverpool. Arsenal are in first place with 36 points.
