Argentina to play first match at 2024 Copa America, full cities and stadiums announced

Argentina will play the first match at the 2024 Copa America and all 14 cities and stadiums have been announced.

The reigning Copa America champions will play the opening match at the 2024 Copa America against the opponent drawn in A4 on June 20 in Atlanta at the Mercedes Benz stadium. Argentina will play their second match against the opponent in A3 on June 25 in New Jersey at Metlife stadium.

Lionel Scaloni’s team will play their third group match against the opponent from A2 on June 29 in Miami at the Hard Rock stadium. The draw for the Copa America takes place on Thursday, December 7 in Miami.

A total of 14 stadiums have been announced and here they are:

The group stage will take place on June 20 until July 2, with the quarter finals beginning on July 4 to July 6, only two days. The semi finals take place between July 9 and 10, the third place match on July 13 and July 14 is the final.

It has been confirmed that the semi finals and the final will take place in the east coast of the United States.

Gianluca Prestianni will be joining Benfica in January from Velez

Prestianni will be a Benfica player. According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal which was verbally agreed in August is €8 million plus €2 million in add ons with Velez getting 15% of future sales.

The 17 year old will travel to Europe when he turns 18 at the end of January.

Argentina U23 team named for training before pre-Olympic

The AFA announced the Argentina U23 team for the training sessions in Buenos Aires before the CONMEBOL pre-Olympic in Venezuela starting on January 20.

The list has 24 players and is made up exclusively of players from Argentina’s first division, Brasileirao and Major League Soccer. They will practice on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Lionel Messi camp.

The following were excluded from the list: those who are playing the second phase of the Copa LPF, those who will play in the final of the Copa Argentina and those playing in Europe.

For those playing in Europe: since the International Olympic Committee competitions are not part of the official FIFA calendar, the clubs are not obliged to lend their players. Therefore, those players would not be in Mascherano’s options.

Dybala made it two goals in his last two matches for AS Roma. With Sassuolo leading 1-0, AS Roma were awarded a penalty and up stepped 30 year old.

The Argentine took the penalty and he went to the goalkeeper’s left, beating the goalkeeper. Dybala played 87 minutes before being substituted out.

Leandro Paredes started the match and played the 90 minutes.

Lo Celso started the match for Tottenham against City and scored for a second consecutive match. With City leading 2-1, Lo Celso received the ball outside of the penalty area, cut inside and his curling effort hit the post, beat Ederson and went into the goal to draw Tottenham level.

The 27 year old played 79 minutes with Tottenham.
