Alan Varela scored his first goal for FC Porto in their 5-0 win vs. Moreirense.

Varela had a goal and an assist for FC Porto in their win with a stellar performance. With FC Porto leading 1-0, Varela sent a cross into the penalty area and it was headed in by Evanilson for their second goal of the match.

He had another assist on FC Porto’s third goal scored by Galeno. FC Porto’s last goal of the match was scored by Varela.

The Argentine received the ball on the edge of the penalty area and his initial left footed shot was saved by the goalkeeper but the 22 year old got his own rebound and scored.

Benfica have announced Benjamín Rollheiser from Estudiantes.

Benjamín Rollheiser has joined Benfica. The club released a video on their social media on Saturday with Benjamín Rollheiser entering their stadium wearing the club shirt.

The 23 year old winger joins them on a contract which will keep him at the club until June 30, 2024. He will wear the number 32 shirt.

Brighton announce signing of Valentín Barco from from Boca Juniors

Brighton have announced the signing of Valentín Barco from from Boca Juniors.

The Argentine has joined Brighton and the Premier League club have announced it using a video from the game Football Manager. In the announcement, technical director David Weir states:

“Valentín Barco has agreed a deal to join the club. He’s delighted to be working with such a talented group of players. Up the Albion!”

Barco is in the video and says:

“Hello Brighton fans, I’m Valentín Barco, see you soon!”

David Weir went on to speak on Brighton’s website. Here is what he had to say:

“We have been aware of Valentin for a long time and have been impressed with the progress he has made at domestic and international level.

“We’re delighted to welcome him to the club, and we are looking forward to seeing how he progresses and develops under Roberto.

“He has played predominantly on the left side, as a full-back, wing-back or winger, but also shown his versatility with Boca, playing across the midfield.

“He is an exciting prospect, but it’s also important we give him the time as he needs to settle and adapt to new surroundings and the Premier League.”

Valentín Barco joins on a four and a half year contract and he is presently with the Argentina U23 team for the pre-Olympic tournament.

Ángel Di María scored and assisted for Benfica in their 2-0 win vs. Boavista.

Di María was named as the Man of the Match for Benfica as he reached 10 goals for the season. The Argentine had a goal disallowed off a deflected shot inside the penalty area that fell to Di María and he scored but it was called back due to a handball.

The 35 year old scored the first goal of the game, a cross inside the penalty area which was not touched by anyone and found the back of the net and he gave Benfica the 1-0 lead. He would also get an assist on the second goal, a pass with the outside of the foot and Marcos Leonardo scored from close range.
