Lionel MESSI scored for FC Barcelona while his Rosario counter part missed a penalty for Sevilla.

The visitors brought with them a 2-0 advantage going into the second leg at the Camp Nou. A two goal lead which would soon vanish. Lionel MESSI was brought down inside the penalty area and let COUTINHO convert from the spot kick.

With the score at 1-0 for Barcelona, Sevilla were awarded a penalty. Ever BANEGA took it and had his shot saved. That was the first time that goalkeeper Jasper CILLESSEN saved a penalty. He was the goalkeeper for the Netherlands when Argentina eliminated them on penalty kicks at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

MESSI would add an assist, playing a pass in to Sergi ROBERTO for one of the goals.

Barcelona’s captain would get his goal, a great team effort with Lionel rounding it off inside the penalty area.

After the match, COUTINHO said this in regards to Lionel MESSI allowing him to take the penalty.

“Thanks to Messi for letting me take the penalty. He’s great and gestures show how big he is.”

  1. Hopefully we will see Lo Celso , Messi, Dybala combination soon. Messi will play good anyway , but question is whether current coach is good enough for the development of young talents like Palacios , Paredes , Dybala , Lo Celso ? I feel he is not the right choice for these players. This was right time for Bielsa to make a come back, who is the best coach of the world for the development of young players.

    • Agreed

Me too. Hope to see that trio banging in goals or feeding Icardi/Aguero.

Scaloni lacks attacking aptitude…the guy just knows how to park the bus. from what we have seen, I have nothing to believe he would be good at developing attacking talent like Dybala and Lo Celso.

      • What’s wrong with park the bus tactics, Argentina could have beat France if hold 2-1 lead when messi is there don’t have to worry about offensively at least scaloni gives solidity in defense

        • Nothing is wrong with park the bus if you know how to counter attack like Simeone / Atleti. But we dont know how.

and strong defense with only Messi magic isn’t what we want to repeat ever again.

  2. A.Gomez is Messi of series A.
player with most dribbles in Series A and creating most chances. So statistically he deserved to be in the national squad.

  3. One of the biggest clubs in the world has reportedly made an eight-figure offer for one of MLS’s top playmakers.

The Washington Post reported late Wednesday night that Paris Saint-Germain are making a push for D.C. United midfielder Luciano Acosta before the close of the European transfer window on Thursday evening. One source places the bid in the $10 million range.

The article states that Manchester City and another English Premier League club have also entered the picture for Acosta, who left training camp on Wednesday evening to fly to Europe, in case a physical is required prior to the transfer deadline.

    Those who think the players
Who went to mls in young age
Are finish than that is your
    Anwser.
I’m sure barco will move to Europe very soon even pity Martinez if he perform good
    Reguler.

    • Will he play there with 160cm? Mbappe, Neymar, Di Maria, Draxler, Diaby all above him in the pecking order…no he wont zero, would be better a smaller club like Betis or even struggling Monaco

    • PSG buy Guaye from Everton (Allan mission was unsuccesful), a physical DM, so the starting lineup will be Guaye/Paredes-Verratti/Paredes imo Leandro will be only the second option even in DM (Guaye) and ZM (Verratti) positions, but will play regularly (injuries, rotation), Mbappe/Draxler—Neymar/Acosta (i dont see when Acosta will play)—Di Maria/Diaby—Cavani/Chupo

      • Csabalala
PSG buy Guaye from Everton (Allan mission was unsuccesful), a physical DM, so the starting lineup will be Guaye/Paredes-Verratti/Paredes imo Leandro will be only the second option even in DM (Guaye) and ZM (Verratti) positions, but will play regularly (injuries, rotation), Mbappe/Draxler—Neymar/Acosta (i dont see when Acosta will play)—Di Maria/Diaby—Cavani/Chupo

        Do you honestly think that
        Verratti or guaye re better
        Than parades personally
I believe paredes will be starting
        Ahead of them definitely he
        Much better than gueye plus
        Gueye won’t be going psg
        Luciano Acosta can suprise
        His manager cus his skills
        Re unbelievable regardless his height
        No matter Argentina players
        Will always playing top European
        Clubs that is fact

        • Verratti is a PSG legend, one of their most important player atm(but injury-prone) so yes he will start ahead of Paredes in this season, PSG midfield lacks a real DM since Thiago Motta, and imo lacks muscle, legs and lungs, so yes a physical DM will start or if not comes than Marquinhos, i hope Verratti will go next year so Paredes will be the key regista/half DM/half ZM or whatever he is, and an indisputable starter

          • Verratti is fantastic baller
            So paredes the only advantage
            Verratti has over paredes is
He has been there long time
            But paredes has other qualities
            Such long range passes
            And long distance shoots
Plus he is dead ball especialsty
But let us wait and see

    • With neymar and ADM, he won’t get much game time.

Also, 1 use case doesn’t disprove that mls is a sub par league….well below Europe. For the most part, great talent will be picked up by Europe first. you can find anecdotals like Acosta but overall, going to mls is often indicative of talent.

  4. If there is one player that deserves a call it is Papu Gomez. He is doing great things at Atalanta.

Imagine he, Lo Celso, Paredes and De Paul were our midfield in the last WC…

  5. Cardiff were interested in a loan move for Alario but Leverkusen wanted to sell him outright. Sheffield Wednesday also made an offer but their offer of 5 mil not good enough for Leverkusen. Betis were also interested in a loan move but not happening.

  6. Luciano Acosta to Europe? Report coming from a reliable source. If it happens I hope he & almiron suceeds in europe not necessarly for him but also for other argentines playing in mls.

  7. Only messi Aguero and Dimaria should be selected from old guards, benega should not be considered

    • Messi goal #6 was Harlem Globetrotter esque. Alba blindly passed it back knowing messi would be there. He has trust and confidence..something we lack in the NT. Same situation player X would tried to shoot themselves.

      • That’s because they practise week and week out together under same coach. If we had thought about injecting our squad with some new blood after last copa than we could have that same relationship among players
