Alexis Mac Allister scored twice for Argentina and the Brighton man spoke about the win.

Mac Allister has been one of Argentina’s standout performers and is top scorer for Fernando Batista’s team. Here’s what he had to say:

“The important thing is that we won, that we keep competing in a difficult tournament. But no doubt we have to continue working. I’m very thankful to all of my team mates and the coaching staff for my form.”

  1. I feel time is up for Messi in Barcelona – It is best if he moves on..

Same goes for Diego Simeone – it is like another yesteryears of Arsenal..i will ensure champion league berth, but will not win anything..

    • Agree; Messi is struggling and frustrating off the pitch with club management; he is not happy and relax; all the pressure loaded on his shoulder; time to take new challenge and proved that it is not Barca that made Messi genius but Messi brings the shine to Barca.

For Diego Simone seems his sweet time with ATM is over, bad on transfer window ; heavy spend on Joao Felix did nor work. Selling A Griezmann and several regular players without proper replacement is a disaster. European leaque depends on the policy of good management to find, brings and signing great players and coach

  2. I honestly respect every fellow Argentina fan in here as an individual but it is not the first time that i am reading specific comments which can be way too irritating!

If i didn’t know that you are an old member in this forum, i remember you since just before 2014 wc, i would have though that you are either a brazilian fan or an Argentina hater! I can’t remember you just once giving credit when it was really due when it comes to Argentina!
What have all of those brazilian players that you mentioned done to prove their own worth in Europe? Every time i watched real madrid, not because i like them (i actually dislike them as i dislike barcelona too), i saw that this guy Vinicious is mediocre at best and the same goes for the other so called “wonderkids”, Rodrigo and Militao. Malcom?? The guy that Barcelona was desperate to get rid of?? Richarlison? Are you setious? A mediocre striker playing for Everton, a medium to lightweight premier league team nowadays and you are trying to make him seem world class?? Apart from marketing and speaking about football, there is no way all the aforementioned ones being more talented than our boys! No way, as a matter of fact, the opposite occurs! Don’t tell me that you didn’t know that this team that is doing very good up to now, is not even the best possible team selected as many of our big talents, let alone Lautaro, were not allowed by their respective clubs to join our team!

Still our depth and ambudance of talent is evident and you are coming with statements such us “this is not an important tournament”. Really?? I guess that the Brazilian wonderkids couldn’t beat Colombia because they didn’t care right?? BOLLOCS!!
    Brazilian wonderkids MY ASS!

    • Brazilians have better defenders than us it’s a bitter reality ……..ATM we don’t have any one decent centre back pairing at all…..we lacks athletism, pace and physicality in every position.
On the other side we have better strikers and may be better midfielders too…I rate lo celso, de Paul , palacios and even paredes very high.
And I think Armani is the very very good goal keeper…..he has some special ability to calm his back line…he is so cool.
We have very good options everywhere on the pitch like ocampos or acuna if u want to make use of wings….if u want to stretch play more then we have Nico Gonzalez who has pace to outrun defenders.
I m really optimistic about our team.

And I also think scaloni is the right man for us ATM.
But scaloni has a very tough job in his hands.

      • The CB pairing is indeed the most difficult choice of Scaloni atm along with goalkeeper. Midfield and forwards seem to be set and I feel really good with the ones you mentioned. LB Tagliafico and RB Montiel is a given. Armani is good with river but less so with NT.. For me Andrada/Benitez/Romero should be the 3 GKs.

For Copa America I wonder how Scaloni will solve the CB pair. My guess is that he will use Pezzella as LCB as he is experienced, tall and also captain of Fiorentina. I think and hope he has seen Otamendi’s declining Form and plays Martinez Quarta as RCB. After the Copa he will have plenty of time in the WCQ to find a better suiting LCB and determine the most fitting GK.

  3. meanwhile tomorow two of our bright young prospects face each other in germany.
    bayer leverkusen vs vfb stuttgart
    exe palacios vs nico gonzalez
i expect palacios to make his debut as bayer have a crunch clash against dortmund on saturday n i tnk they have 1 or 2 midfielders injured so definitely palacios will start

  4. CSABALA IS RIGHT TO SOME EXTENT. BUT WE ARE ALSO NOT FAR BEHIND FROM BRAZIL INTERMS OF PLAYERS. THOSE BRAZILIAN PLAYERS ARE GREAT BUT WE ARE ALSO RUNNING SHORT OF PLAYERS LIKE CHRISTIAN ROMERO, PALACIOS, DOMINGUEZ ETC. I DON’T THINK THAT BRAZIL TEAM CONSISTS OF JESUS, MILITAO ETC CAN BEAT US HAND”S DOWN. YES WITH THE AVAILABILITY OF THOSE PLAYERS THEY WILL BE MORE DANGEROUS TEAM. BUT WE ARE ALSO EQUALLY BRILIANT. I DON’T RATE OLYMPIC FOOTBALL HIGH. BUT WE SHOULD GO TO ANY EXTENT TO WIN COPA AMERICA THIS TIME. ONE MORE THING BRAZILIAN CLUBS KNOW HOW TO SELL THEIR PLAYERS IN BIG CLUBS . TITE IN RECENT TIMES HAS GIVEN CHANCE TO SO MANY YOUNG BRAZILIAN PLAYERS. I THINK IF EZEQUAIL BARCO HAD BEEN BRAZILIAN HE WOULD HAVE BECOME A SENIOR PLAYER FOR THEM BY NOW. BRAZILIAN PLAYERS GET MORE EXPOSURE THAN ARGENTINIAN PLAYERS. EVEN SIMEONE GOT SO MANY ARGENTINAN PLAYERS SIGNED. BUT HOW MANY OF THEM SHINED? NONE. HOW MANY ARGENTINIAN PLAYERS HAVE PLAYED SO FAR UNDER HIM? GAITAN, JOSE SOSA, RENATO AUGUSTO, ANSALDI, NAHUEN PEREZ, AXEL WERNER, NICOLUS IBANET ALL HAVE SIGNED UNDER HIM. BUT BRAZILIANS LIKE PHILIPE, LODI ARE GETTING CHANCE AFTER CHANCE AND AS A RESULT THEY ARE DOING WELL. THIS ARGENTINIAN COACH IS THE WORST ENEMY OF US.

    • ” I THINK IF EZEQUAIL BARCO HAD BEEN BRAZILIAN HE WOULD HAVE BECOME A SENIOR PLAYER FOR THEM BY NOW. ” i dont see one single one young brazilian NT-player under Tite from MLS, so no…Barco has to go in a competitive european league and proves his worth, need to know is he another overrated player like Matias Vargas on one dimension higher (nowadays hardly plays the Espanyol record signing), or a real deal.

      • Yeah, we’ve heard from you only for last year about several overrated players that turned to be simply underrated by you: Ascacibar, Lautaro, Cervi, Acuna, Tagliafico, Lo Celso, Gaich, Colombatto, J.Correa, Medina, DOminguez, MacAllister. THis list goes on and on. Barco is superb even being MLS player.

  5. This tournament doesnt say much about real srengths and potentials, imagine Uruguay with Valverde-Bentancour- De La Cruz midfield, hole different story… Brazil with Gabriel Jesus, Rodrygo, Vinicius, Richardlison, Neres, Malcom, Paqueta, Gerson, Renan Lodi, Eder Militao etc etc etc. our B-C team looks stronger than this B-C Brazil team, but their best players are definitely more talented than ours, except Lautaro ofc, and maybe Palacios.

    • Totally disagree, C.Romero, Balerdi, Licha Martinez, Montiel, Robertone, Ascacibar, Dominguez, Palacios, Buendia, Barco and as you mentioned Lautaro are every bit as talented IMO. The kids have been playing great so try and be positive and not crap on their performance for a change.

    • Of course, as always Csabalala see only the one side of coin taking the side of opponents as if Argentina fielded all best players. It hurt him a lot to see Argentina winning 5th game in a row. Excuses demand.

    • Was expecting this from you.
While moan about our youngsters not being ba regular starter. And half of the player you mentioned isn’t a regular starter.
Also how can you expect a player to shine at his first season.

  6. everyone must downplay their expectations because some of these u19 players are known to bottle n lose from winning positions this match was no exception it shud have been a comfortable 3-0 victory n it wud hav been a healthy goal difference but we nearly bottled it n allowed them to cut the defecit to one goal in extra time tnkfully we managed to hold it together so fingers crossed we learn frm old mistakes n refrain frm commiting new ones

  7. one thing i noticed was all three goals came from outside the box.hope argentina can score more goals from inside the box from open plays. it wud increase the confidence of our attackers

    • but he picked the spot perfectly in the bottom corner given argentina’s tall players he mustav been cautious about tat which led to alexis cleverly exploiting the bottom corner

  8. meanwhile gonzalo maroni made his debut for sampdoria in the 4-2 defeat at home to napoli he came on as the first sub in the 60th minute.his manager is the infamous claudio ranieri.

  9. Look at Brazil lol even with half of their players in Europe they cudnt win against Colombia even the real Madrid “wonderkid” 30 million renier Jesus cudnt save them

  10. Rojo and Di Maria should not be called they are done and dusted. We have good younger player to give their heart to the national team.Mac Allister is performing great. He needs to start playing in Argentina team as a starter in Left Midfield.Lo celso is also good but Mac Allister has physicality, more attacking minded, pace, good final third passess so he should be starter

  11. Great..👌
Other match…Brazil and Colombia drawn 1-1. Now, there is a chance Argentina can win the championship before playing last match against Brazil.
Next match I expect Argentina beat Colombia and Brazil-Uruguay gets drawn.

  12. Fking scaloni shud not even tnk of calling up rojo even if his team goes on a huge clean sheet run(which will never happen ofc) he is too slow can’t read movements of pacy attackers .HE WILL BE SMOKED BY GABRIEL JESUS AND FIRMINO

  13. If this team carry on this excellent performance n go on to finish top of the group scaloni must definitely call up half of this talented crop. Especially facu Medina, nehuen Perez, fausto Vera,Alexis McAllister these 5 are the standouts for me personally
