Argentina’s starting line-up announced

1. Simeone over calleri next. Game. And espozina over correa

2. Olarticoechea is at least tweaking the formation, I like how he went 4-4-2ish after Simeone came on

3. Calleri was terrible, considering the fact that we did not have a lot of time to prepare and we spent a lot of time training with 11 players i can only congratulate the boys for the game today we can see that Olarticoechea knows what he is doing.

   • Not bad. Most of them played his first NT game and first time together.

4. at least he has plan b …433 422 and 352

5. Calleri definitely was our worst player

   • We are missing Dybala big time

6. I like it how Gomez not only makes lateral runs but also diagonal ones, like a winger cutting inside

   • he prefers diagonal

7. I wish Lanzin’s chilena had gone in …would have been a brilliant goal

8. Ascacibar Correa Martinez Gianettti Gomez Soto and Cuesta looks like they are comfortable they playing through ease but Lo Celso looks like he is having a tough time, sometimes he hesitates in making his decision.

   • I agree but I guess Lo Celso is still very young, just turned 20 in April so I’m willing to cut him some slack.

9. Correa is impressive but sometimes dribbles too much

10. Not too bad I guess. The build-up is decent but no finishing product yet, Calleri seems isolated at times. A couple of defensive lapses as well, but Rulli was good. A bit of tiki-taka at times too with short passing in midfield 🙂

    And Gomez, yes finally a truly offensive full-back.

    • The defensive lapses looks like tactical mistake with looking for offside.

      • Yeah this was an offside trap that did not work 🙂

    • Soto was good too despite the yellow

11. Defense and Midfield seems good. The attack needs some working.

    • Calleri isn’t good as far

      • Correa too. He dribbled too much and almost always ignored gomez’s run. I guess after 2 weeks of training together these things will not happen

12. All the players you mentioned were good. Especially Gomez and Martinez. Gomez plays his typical phenomenal offwnsive football.

13. It reminds me of typical Argentina defense. I haven’t seem for awhile. 😀

14. It’s as if correa doesn’t know how to pass???

15. I like Gomez and Rulli. Rulli’s distribution is very good, no wonder Pep wanted him.

16. I like soto and Mauricio Martinez so far
