Lionel MESSI nets four goals for FC Barcelona in their 6-1 win against Eibar.

If it was Pablo PIATTI and Sebastian DRIUSSI on Monday, then it’s Lionel MESSI on Tuesday. Not for the first time in his career Lionel MESSI has scored four times in a single mnatch. After all, the first time he did it was in a Champions League knock out stage match in 2010 against English club Arsenal. This time though, it was against Spanish opposition, Eibar. The first was off a penalty kick with the other two coming from open play.

MESSI has now scored 11 goals in the season in only five La Liga matches, his best ever start in his La Liga career.

Argentina National Team coach Jorge SAMPAOLI was in attendance to watch both Lionel MESSI and Javier MASCHERANO (who started the match for the Catalan club). SAMPAOLI met with the two Argentina captain’s on Monday to discuss the upcoming World Cup Qualifying matches.

  1. Both uruguay and venezuela played 11 defenders and played counter futbol. Its hard to break through that defense unless you pass and move or learn how to play off walls.. argentina is struggling breaking through the defense.. barsa has the same problem, but they habe learned to break thr defense.. once barsa scores, it opens the game.. i feels its the same for Argentina…

    • It sounds good. Tell us who will pass the ball to Messi if he plays as a false 9 for the Argentina NT. Does the team have midfielders like Philippe Coutinho or Paulinho or defender like Dani Alves? Will Messi kick a ball forward and teleport himself to receive the ball and shoot a goal for Argentina?

      • In last matches Messi was passing from deep midfield and nothing came of it. So there’s nothing in this tactic to defend. I’m not supporter of Gago, Biglia, Banega, Di Maria anymore but still believe they can do a bit better if only will get a chance to show initiative what requires to keep Messi a little far from main stream of playing. If not they will still like kids.

      • Who was passing Messi for those goals in Barca? He created them almost every goal by himself. Messi better play near to the penalty box not as midfielder or something else

      • “Tell us who will pass the ball to Messi if he plays as a false 9 for the Argentina NT”
search by your self about Argentinean midfielders and read about how many goal chances they made for their clubs.
