Lionel MESSI, DI MARIA, LANZINI, SALVIO all score

It was a list of big names who scored in Europe this weekend as Lionel MESSI, Angel DI MARIA, Manuel LANZINI and Eduardo SALVIO all found the back of the net.

Beginning in England, Manuel LANZINI continues to impress for his side, this time scoring twice for West Ham United in their 4-1 win against Huddersfield. LANZINI’s name has been in the press the past few days as a possible replacement for Barcelona’s COUTINHO, who left Liverpool earlier in the transfer market.

Moving to Portugal, Eduardo SALVIO scored in Benfica’s 3-1 win against Braga. It was an Argentine connection on the goal as Franco CERVI provided the assist.

Next to the border in Spain, it was a Lionel MESSI goal and a Lionel MESSI record. The little guy scored a marvelous free kick past Geronimo RULLI in Barcelona’s 4-2 win against Real Sociedad. The win takes them nine points clear of Diego SIMEONE’s Atletico Madrid and ensures that they are the only unbeaten team in Europe’s top five leagues (after Manchester City lost 4-3 to Liverpool).

MESSI’s goal was his 366th league goal, edging him past the German Gerd MULLER’s record of strikes in a European top five league.

Right across to France, Angel DI MARIA scored the lone goal in PSG’s 1-0 win against FC Nantes.

  1. Lanzini is on the radar of Sampaoli, hopefully he will be get and grow better and make a move to big club. Not just scoring to Huddersfield team; Lanzini deserve the WC and can contribute much.

  2. Lanzini deserves Argentina team.Have you seen how good his finishing is,how clinical it is,better than Di Maria and Dybla. He should be used either AM or left forward by Sampaoli. He could be a key for Argentina. He is fast physical and consistent.

    • I agree. SAMPAOLI already had a chat with him and Funes Mori. We’ll see what happens. But yes, this guy could be our surprise.. a goetze surprise!

      • Kavindrs, you made very good points but I disagree with you on one point; right now we can’t say Lanzini is better than Di Maria. Angel is very experencied and he can play one-two passes with Messi more than any other player in the squad. He is very fast and defends well whenever he is needed to do so. The only problem Di Maria has is some of his decisions on the pitch which aren’t very good but that is ok, because nobody is PERFECT in this world.

About Lanzini, there is no doubt that he deserves the NT and the team needs his services. Chelsea officials see him as a perfect replacement for Fabregas and Liverpool are watching him closely.

        • Maria’s big problem is his fitness, he was injured in 3 back to back tournaments and missed 2 out of 3 finals and that’s a dubious pattern to have. With that being said I wouldn’t mind having Maria as a supersub where I think he’d do some serious damage, same goes for Pavon and Correa.

          • That’s not going to happen this time around as he is now a benchwarmer in psg he will be fresh come wc so will be dybala but I have doubt regarding Messi he mayb burned out come wc remember in 2014 wc also he was burned out by knockout stages that’s the biggest concern

  3. ……..and La Pulga wanted that goal bad and did just that in style.
It was like a heat-seeking missile veering off course, only to come back and KaBOOM!!
