Argentina against Italy at the Etihad in March

Confirmation on Thursday that the Argentina National Team will play at at the Etihad stadium.

It was already confirmed that the Argentina National Team would play two friendly matches in March. The first against four time world champions Italy with the second coming against the 2010 world champions Spain. What was not fully confirmed were the locations.

Per the official Argentina team Twitter account, Argentina against Italy will be played at the Etihad stadium, home of Sergio AGUERO and Nicolas OTAMENDI’s Manchester City. The last time the team played in Manchester was on the red side of the city, at Old Trafford back in 2014 in a 1-0 loss to Portugal. This would be the first time the team would play at the Manchester City’s stadium.

The second match against Spain will be played at the newly opened Wanda Metropolitano stadium in Madrid. The stadium is home to Diego SIMEONE’s Atletico Madrid.

  7. Sorry for off-topic, I’m thinking about creating an instructive internet site for individuals. May probably commence with submitting interesting information such as”Butterflies range in size from a tiny 1/8 inch to a huge almost 12 inches.”Please let me know if you know where I can find some related information such as here

  8. Banega is good passser but he is slow and because of him Messi always has to drop deep in midfield to recover the ball and it affects attacking spirit of team we should try to keep Messi as much as possible in penalty zone that is where he is more useful. As Biglia is defensive midfielder so we can not blame him.

  9. As of now our passing are too slow and sideways passing that makes us easier to defend we need to pass and linkup between players must be quick and more direct approach then we will be deadly

  10. I watched last few matches under sampaoli including those dissapointing qualifying draws plus Nigeria loss I can clearly see some improvement in passing and linkup play it would only get better as they assemble for wc camp 1 month before wc starts and as wc progress we will improve more just 1 major concern is formation and fatigue to go with it

    • Yes I agree, the midfield of 3 made it more fluid. There was also increasing contribution of Otamendi and Maschereno. The only problem with this system 3-3-3-1 is there is no enough balance if the wingers cannot help covering the central back, like the failure against Nigeria. It requires huge defensive efforts for the wingers in this system.

So it’s safer to have at least 1 high work-rate type winger like Acuna and Salvio to bring the balance.

  11. Sampoli please include Lanzini in your next selection against Italy and Spain. Right now he is injure but he will recover till march.Drop Banega(Mr.Alcoholic) he is not useful. our attackers and defenders are best both starter and substitutes.
Funes Mori is also recovering fast.

    • Banega is absolutely needed he is super in passing and lanzini and lo celso also should play but banega should be used like Barcelona using iniesta 60-65 minutes then he is ok

      • Banega is fucking awful. He has one great game then 5 where he disapears. He is slow, lazy and most importantly he holds the ball and does REALLY FUCKING STUPID THINGS in central areas of our half, when he looses it.. which is often.. our defense is totally our of position and we get raped by counters. He is not renatious enough ekther for a 3 man midfield. He is a good sub, nothing more.. in a 4 4 2.. maybe. We are a million times better off with locelso, biglia, paredes, enzo etc playing in CM.. they play smart, one touch and keep it flowing.. I really hope Paredes gets the start, he is the closest thing to Veron we have had since he retired.

  12. play messi as free agent and dybala one of the two striker problem solved, why sampaoli isn’t trying that i don’t know or he can play both dybala and messi as duel false nine, duel false nine is the way to go for us with ikardi at left opens up lots of chances.

    • Not practical to play 2 false 9 and Messi aguero is just necessity playing messi as mid limit his goal scoring ability messi should be as close as possible to goal why not play dybala in midfield with 1 dm (masche/biglia) 2 attacking mid or otherwise play dybala as a substitute to Messi as icardi mayb a substitute of aguero and going by the injury prone aguero icardi will surely get playing time lanzini lo celso should be there also so is dimaria and perez

      • you didn’t get me,what i wanna say is a new concept like dummy false nine(dybala),in that it will be possible to play both messi and him.
aguero is not a national team material, ikardi and higuen will be enough.

  13. 2 most important matches for sampaoli to try lots of things and numerous players then he needs to decide which formation to play in the world cup and whom to select and if he can make a system where dybala Messi can operate properly lets see how it turns out
