1. Who is the attacking midfielder in the selection so far?

     • This is ridiculous…there has to be someone atleast like Riquelme..Riquelme was not the best in class..but he was better than many…

2. Looks like Lo Celso could be forced to a loan move (most likely Empoli) after Tuchel has made it clear Lo Celso not in his plans. PSG have just signed 18 year old Midfielder for 40 mil from Schalke. They already have Draxler, Rabiot, Nkunku and a host of other youngsters in midfield. They are also hotly pursuing Pulisic.

   • If he can get Regular playing time in Empoli ( or any other club where he is loaned to) I don’t think he will mind. However, this is the problem when you move in a big club so early in your career.

3. Balerdi incidentally could move to Barca. Barca still pursuing but Boca have so far rejected, becos they want him to keep the Boca bench warm.
   Calling up all these players is fine but the real question is if Scaloni is up to the mark. If he is inadequate and even half as bad as Sampaoli then most of these kids called up are doomed and will certainly have their careers stained.

   • I don’t think Scaloni is influenced by Baldie so much specially after seeing closely as to what happened in Russia. He will definitely take a different approach.

4. Over all a very rejuvenating list if it’s true. Against Guatemala I am hopeful that this young boys will play good , however against Colombia , Brazil and United States ( in the next FIFA date in October) their inexperience might be the deciding factor. Nevertheless , Scaloni must not bend down to the pressure and should continue persuing with the future players.
   Secondly, AFA must start their pursue for the next DT from now onwards if they want to hire someone reputed( Gallardo, Pochetino, Simione :D)), becoz the deal will take its time to get sealed. On the other hand if they are targeting someone with a low profile ( Almiron, Almeyda 🙂 or some other unheard names) then it’s ok if they are taking their time. Either ways , the impression is that Scaloni will remain in charge till Copa.

   But Franco Vasquez, Really ????????????????????????????????????????

5. Take out Sergio Romero, Armani,Mercado and Franco Vazquez. Other than that I don’t mind the list.

   • And take out Salvio too, no need for him.

I do not think Argentina is in so much trouble that a wasted forward like Vazquez, who does not get call for Italy who do not have good forwards either, has the ability to represent Argentina, especially as Striker. If he was a defender then i would consider one or two things. It’s heart breaking to see traitor like vazquez getting opportunity. It will create feeling of anguish in other players who are dying to wear the albiceleste jersey. So, i do not want to see Vazquez in NT.

9. Stunning goal by Leonardo parades in Europe league. Best Argentine midfielder. It’s shame parades still played for zenit. Very happy with Leonardo balerdi getting chance, best defender of cotif tournament & good height 1.88cm.

10. As a side note, Boca got their ass handed to them today by Barcelona. Before these morons in the AFA talk about projects, they need to realize that when half your team are from other South American countries your own players don’t grow as much, and the quality goes down the toilet. Whatever stupid project these brain surgeons are talking about starting is about 10 years too late. Remember this ass kicking the next time we talk about calling up our local players to compete with world class teams.

11. I think its a nice young team. I don’t understand why Foyth is there if he is injured. If he is fine then he deserves to be called up. I think Mammana should be called up as well once he is over his injury. About the only 2 guys he has missed is Lucas Ocampos and Lucas Alario. I think they are certainly better than Simeone, Salvio, and Acuna; the latter two which were used as fullbacks under that meat head Sampaoli.
    And I would expect Romero to be the captain.

12. Good list (if true), now hopefully they’ll be given time to grow and learn with team and not be dumped after one game like that fool Sampaoli did with Gomez, Alario and Nacho.

    Nice to see pity and battaglia in there, hopefully they’ll get a chance.

    Not sure who should partner pezzella, haven’t seen kaneman play, Mori lacks match fitness, Franco never really impressed me and Foyth/balerdi haven’t done anywhere near enough to warrant a start (although calling them up is a good thing because it should give them confidence).

    Battaglia is not a RB I know, but he has played as a RB for sporting and he was surprisingly good. As for Bustos, well to be honest I don’t even think he deserves a call up and not because I blame him for the spain game but rather for the fact that he’s very inconsistent, he was great for a part of the season and then his form dropped like a rock.

    I picked Cervi because he’s a copmlete player, fast, skillful, very creative and defensively disciplined and that’s really important because the team will need to defend with 8 and dybala/Icardi don’t defend.

Wtf that 29 years old Italian Franco Vasquez doing here…….I want to see young talents…..and Mr godin11 we seriously don’t hv world class defenders….we hv good but not world class….Nd we also hv young excellent midfielders like lo celso who is benched now in Psg….parades who was rejected by Roma…..can’t say much wrong about ascasicbar because he haven’t spend much time in Europe and he is so young…..guyz I m not saying that u hv to be playing in real Barca Bayern or juventus to be good player….my point is at least u should be playing regular for top 8 teams of the top 4 European league

Well well I saw some of our friends here posting things like saying Argentina don’t have good defenders and midfielders well that is not the case they aren’t playing big European clubs or leagues it doesn’t mean Argentina haven’t got good defenders and midfielders but the reality is there ‘re good ones in Argentina superliga and cross south America I mean Brazil league ,Mexico league. The fact is Argentina always will have good players cross the field but is up to the managers to make good use of it

    • Rather not. It’s rather his partner in Independiente, Figal is ball playing. At least they have better on this regard young Cbs in league as Barboza and Lisandro Martinez. On the other hand Franco is really tough defender. He was mentioned for some time. I think he deserved. Good call up.

20. Who is this Leonardo BALERDI…?

    • Our best defender on COTIF tournament. Pourtau, Balerdi, Almendra, Barreal left good impessions there. I was expecting rather one of Pourtau/Almendra but Balerdi looked much mature.

      • Gonzalo : you forget about maroni , he was the best among the players you mentioned, he was controlling the midfield.

        • For me the player who controlled midfield was DM Andres Ayala. Maroni played on wing. Was one of outstanding players but RF Barreal did more on this tournament.
