Emiliano Dibu Martínez spoke about the World Cup celebration, what he told Lionel Messi and the saves against the Netherlands.
Dibu Martínez commented on why he fell to the ground when Argentina won the World Cup and what he told Lionel Messi. Speaking in an interview with TyC Sports, here is what he had to say:
“It was the first time in my life that I collapsed. I was awake and passed out at the same time. I didn’t have the legs to run, I would have liked to run and lift Montiel. When I realised I was on the ground, I grabbed my head and didn’t know what to do. They were all over the place.”
Martínez also revealed what he told Lionel Messi:
“The first thing was I thanked him for making me world champion, he is a guy who puts a lot of pressure on himself. The people really don’t know how much he loves the national team and what he generates for those who work in it. He treats everyone as equals. That’s when you realise what he is.”
Regarding the match vs. Netherlands:
“I saved two penalty kicks (Virgil van Dijk and Steven Berghuis) and people say that the goalkeeper is the star. But nothing to do with that, I told him (Messi) that he helped me the whole game.”
FIFA New goalkeeper rules are complete bull shit. You want to keep the game noble and fair? Fair, How about FIFA/UEFA enforce the rule of no diving with more yellow cards? Noble, How about FIFA/UEFA do something about the over dramatic fake injuries. Goalkeeper are in a huge disadvantage during penalties and now you’re talking away the only advantage they might of had. Stick to what you do best, being corrupt and taking brides.
