Cristian Romero named new Tottenham Hotspur captain

Cristian Romero has been named as the new captain of Tottenham Hotspur.

Romero will be wearing the captain’s armband this season for the reigning UEFA Europa League champions. The club announced on Wednesday that the Argentine will be captaining them with the departure of former captain Son Heung-min to Los Angeles FC.

The new Tottenham Hotspur captain also gave his first interview, speaking in English.

  1. Great news! Hopefully that would make him even better, meaning taming some of the rash moves he makes occasionally. Overall, he manages to walk that fine line between aggression and precision in tackles, anticipation, interceptions, etc. I hope one day he can be in the best XI of all time, surpassing Ruggeri or Passarella.
