Alejandro Garnacho injured, set to miss Argentina matches in March

Alejandro Garnacho is injured and is set to miss Argentina’s matches in March.

Garnacho finished Manchester United’s last league match injured and was shown leaving Old Trafford on crutches. A report out of Argentina has him missing the two matches with another report having him be a real doubt.

The Argentina national team will play Panama and Curacao at the end of the month and depending on who you want to believe, he may already be ruled out. According to Gastón Edul, his injury is worse than expected and is ruled out for the two matches.

A separate report has Garnacho has a doubt. According to Ole, he has suffered a sprained talofibular ligament in his right ankle and is a doubt.

Argentina play Panama on March 23 and Curaçao on March 28 with both matches expected to be to celebrate Argentina winning the World Cup.

  1. How serious is Garnacho’s injury? I hope he will be back next month. I wouldn’t like to see such a young talent ruined by injuries. I remember in 2008, Eduardo Da-Silva, key Arsenal player, suffered career ending injury after malicious tackle by Martin Taylor.
Kyle Walker-Peters sliding tackle on Garnacho was malicious and referee did nothing.

  2. The next WC in 2026 will consist of 104 matches in 40 days!

Why not skip qualification matches all together and start with all countries in K.O. rounds? 🙂

    • I’m a die-hard FCB fan. I don’t feel happy for Garnacho injury. After messi and adm he was the one I wanted to see the most play in March with Argentina jersey. Don’t hate me.

    • Those are not Argentina fans. Just because someone mocked Barcelona player, he should be disqualified from representing Albicelestes. At club level I support Chelsea but when it comes to international tournament I have always supported Argentina since 1998.
